  • Mental side of PRE-E

    Hey all,

    Long time reader and posted a few times as you can probably see my progress log. So when i first came here i was lasting anywhere between 15seconds to 1 minute max. I started dedicating my self to get better. I realised i had a very tight pelvic floor so i strongly focused on stretching mainly hindi squats, child pose and butterfly. I also implemented reverse keagels in and paid close attention to my pelvic floor automatically kegaling throughout the day. This honestly helped me so much and i started improving and getting a lot more confident. i was lasting up to 5 mins consistently and every now and then i lasted 10 mins which was great. However, i was still not pleased as my goal is 15-20 mins

    Here comes the second part, for about 2-3months now i have just plateaued at 5 mins and am struggling to improve anymore it almost seems impossible. I have a few theories i feel like it is defiantly my mental side? i think i get aroused to quick and i don't have the confidence to last 15 mins. I am not sure how to improve this mental side. I have a girlfriend and practice quite regularly but i cant stop. Its like my dick is destined to finish at 5 mins regardless of how slow i go or how many stops i make. once i reach PONR even if i pull out and wait a minute or two ill put it back in and still be at a 9. I struggle to get back down from a high arousal. Also i think i may have APT and i have been seeing alot of people mention that fixing their APT has helped? maybe i should give this a go?

    Would love some suggestions or stories of how people got over the mental side of Pre E cause i think my physical side is good now but my mentality needs fixing. Thanks all in advance x

    Are you edging? Do you reach a plateau during edging that allows you to go beyond 5 minutes?

    Have you noticed if your pelvic floor tightens during real sex over that 5 minute period? What sexual positions are you normally doing? Do you reverse kegel during sex?

    Once my pelvic floor has locked down during real sex, no amount of stop/start helps me to reduce my arousal level.

    In terms of the mental side, I've been working on that at the beginning of sex (first 2 minutes) - that period of time when arousal ramps up from a low level to the plateau (hopefully). I have been doing diaphragm breathing, reverse kegels, and then recently I've been playing around with a mediation technique where I try to visualize those intense feelings around my penis dissipating throughout my body. I also visualize an activity where I am flowing along (like skiing, surfing, skateboarding). I almost dissociate my brain from those feelings. The feelings are still there - but they seem more leveled out. Then, once I feel that I've reached a plateau of arousal below the PONR, which usually happens at the 2 minute mark, I switch back to being more in the moment and more present with the experience. I just need something to help out with starting up.

      There could be a mental aspect to it. It's not unusual for one to become proficient at manual edging while encountering more of a challenge during "live" edging.

      Learning how to relax both during and after the sexual encounter is going to be vital. As with manual edging. take pauses during your sexual encounters to increase the time during each session. This should be the quickest way to develop your abilities- both physical and mental.

        Hey Dude. No i don't edge really i know i should but i just don't like it. I feel when i edge i need porn otherwise i cant even get hard. My imaginiation isn't that great and i have a feeling porn is not helping me. Would you recommend edging? I might have to give it another go. DO you watch porn? also do you finish when you edge?

        In regards, to sex posistions. Normally in missionary and i can control the pace which helps. Im probably the weakest when she is on top. I can barely last when she is on top. Sometimes i do try to reverse keagal during sex but i find it very difficult.

        Ill give that a go of trying to disconnect for the first 2 mins and try keep my mind off it. Will give it a go tonight. THanks heaps dude for your input.

          Good luck tonight. The mental aspects of PreE are the trickiest for me. I can't say that I have a fool proof method that works every time. But, I think to stay calm during foreplay, RK to keep my arousal under control, and then try the mediation thing. It's tough.

          I think edging is pretty important, and you may want to try to make yourself do it. Now that I've been doing it for months, I definitely understand the the feeling of not wanting to do it or not being in the mood. In those times, I usually balloon (rub glans and frenulum with lube) to get an erection. It's not always easy to get things going. But, I think the practice of edging, playing around with speeds and different positions is helpful. It also allows me to determine what state of tightness my pelvic floor is in, practice RKs, and practice breathing.
