Has anyone ever looked into this? It is basically therapy with the primary function to help you rethink negative thoughts as well as over-thinking and reduce Anxiety, which by the way anxiety can cause muscle tension.

Most definitely. I have had depression in the past that effected me in school and my relationships with the girlfriend and parents.
I went to therapy for depression for about 3 months and learned it didn't have to exist and if I fought what was causing the depression in my head it would go away. Well behold it worked and I haven't been depressed at all since therapy about 9 months ago.
If you look at Anxiety Disorders you'll see these symptoms. The ones I think are Pre E related are in Bold
Feelings of panic, fear, and uneasiness
Uncontrollable, obsessive thoughts
Repeated thoughts or flashbacks of traumatic experiences
Nightmares
Ritualistic behaviors, such as repeated hand washing
Problems sleeping
Cold or sweaty hands and/or feet
Shortness of breath
Palpitations
An inability to be still and calm
Dry mouth
Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet
Nausea
Muscle tension
Dizziness
Another Coincidence is the fact that another treatment of anxiety are the use of SSRI's. Maybe that is a reason why SSRI's work so well to help Pre E. It relieves all of the worries in your mind, and muscle tension...
Back to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It is basically rewiring your brain not to be tense. It can be done on your own with lots of work, or done through therapy. This sounds very, very effective. This also seems to go hand in hand with Byggds Guide to Controlling Your Ejaculation Resonce and Arousal Techniques.
This sounds like another piece to the puzzle to me.Last edited by Drummer19; 07-15-2011, 07:37 PM.Arousal Techniques-Techniques to overcome Pre-E.

Interesting. I believe this would work for some people.
I believe I saw some posts from someone into NLP on this forum not long ago. Many believe NLP can do the same thing as cognitive behavioral therapy - only much much quicker. No need for 12 to 16 hour long sessions - just a couple shorter sessions.
I don't know either way, as I've not used either to help with Pre E. Seems like it would be worth trying, particularly if insurance would cover the therapy cost.

Panther,
I couldn't find the thread but I believe that it was "nibbles" that posted the link to an NLP site. I copied the URL and went and looked at the site.
I'll type it out here if you are interrested in visiting: Introduction to NLP I left off the ".html" so a link would not automatically get created.
Alternatively, just searching for "Introduction to NLP" returns lots of interresting results. I agree with you that it's worth trying, at least as an additional tool, in helping with Pre. E.
I think subliminal messaging will help as well. I've picked some up but keep forgeting to use them on a regular basis. I will add them, once again, to my daily routine just so I can report back after a while on their effectiveness.
Later!

Greetings neighbor!
I just did some more reading on NLP. It's really cool stuff and easy to practice. When I go home I'm going to download some of their exercises and give them a try. And like you say it's quite like CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and hypnosis both of which also intrigue me. I think I'm going to change my mind! I'll let you know how it works.
Cheers!

NLP is considered hypnosis. I have been performing NLP to last longer in bed, to get confidence around women, to be more outgoing in public, to, in short, perceive life more positively. Clearly, my anectodotal evidence should not be weighed too highly. However, it is certainly valuable. I strongly encourage people to look into NLP. I haven't seen a friend yet that hasn't benefited from NLP in one way or another (about 10 accounts of it working and 0 accounts of it not working).Originally posted by OldRocker View PostGreetings neighbor!

To say the NLP is hypnosis is a gross oversimplification.
From what I've learned NLP it is a pragmatic way of approaching change work and therapy. In otherwords, NLP is a series of strategies and skills that can be used to improve your life and the life of others. No question that hypnosis plays a role in NLP.
