  • Trigger Points

    Hello everyone,

I want to talk about pelvic floor trigger points. I looked and this subject wasn't discussed lately in the forum, if it did, then maybe someone can refer me to the thread.

    So here I go.

Pelvic floor balance's importance has been widely discussed and most of us agree on the importance of not only having a strong, but also a relax pelvic floor.

That being said, the reality is that my pelvic floor is really tricky. Some days, it's so relax and I feel like I don't suffer from premature ejaculation anymore and other days it is so tensed that I know I would cum in the blink of an eye. Even with a big RK routine.

This is why I've been doing some researches lately on trigger points in the pelvic floor.

Basically the idea of using trigger points came to me after a massage therapy session I had for my back. The therapist would actually press on a very tense point located in a stressed muscle to release it. Breathing slowly at the same time, the muscle would involuntary spasm and, as the spasm become weaker, you feel your muscle release at the same rhythm. It is very impressive.

So I thought, why not try it with my pelvic floor? I don't have any massage therapy formation, but I thought I could go progressively by learning to read the tension with my fingers on the muscle.

    The results?

I can find some points and generate involuntary spasm by pressing them. I have less success with obtaining solid release of the muscle. It is actually interesting because, when I was able to obtain some release I could follow the ''trail of tension'' as a released point allows you to identify more easily another point close.

    Why my results were mitigated?

    1- My lack of knowledge
2- It is very tiring for your finger, wrist and arm to work your pelvic floor yourself. Actually, a normal massage therapist would use his elbow to press on your back, not to tire his fingers. This is absolutely impossible for me to use my elbow..... basic anatomy :P

I am working on this. I know some therapist are also working trigger point in the pelvic floor. I guess there are just a few and it must be a very particular and expensive experience.

I researched the web, but didn't find that much information about it even though there are some pertinent sources.

Have anyone tried this trigger point technique to release the pelvic floor? Do you have any suggestion ideas?
    Relaxation is my key!

Well, what about the spot between the anus and the testicles? Sometimes it is so tense that it won't relax at all and begins to spasm. The best I could do then is so a BIG reverse kegel in frustration and anger.

The standard sit on a tennis ball massage applies hanma. However after some of that, you might wish to specificly target trigger points .
You could possibly do this with the tennis ball , the anal/internal massage stuff gives me the shivers thinking about it.

Tennis ball? That will be tough to explain to my mother ... Basket ball or football is normal, haha.
Do I just sit on the tennis ball targeting the spot I mentioned?

So start with a basketball ,put it in the taint area, sit on it to apply pressure to the area you wish to massage.

Been doing that occasionally. Is 10 minutes fine? I'll move around on it a bit.

I'd advice you not really more than 10 minutes, over that you might tire too much your muscles.

                    Thx Pegasus for the advice!

                      Guys,

It's advisable when doing the tennis ball message to help support yourself with your arms so you are not putting too much intensive pressure on your prostrate. The goal is to loosen it up to let the tension out of the target points, not to destroy it.

Also, continue with your reverse kegel exercises. They work teriffic when well conditioned.

How do we become well conditioned then?
