  • Pe after ssri?

I was one ssri for about 10 years. Escitalopram for the last 4 or 5.
I have never had pre mature ejaculation in my life. While on the meds there were times where I was in able to reach climax. I recently weaned off and have been ssri free for about 5 weeks. This whole time since I’ve been off I have pe. Most places say that it should still go away and maybe it will take some time but I’ve also heard of it being like this and you have to return to ssri. I am hoping it will
get better on its own. Has anyone dealt with this ? Thanks

Guys are given ssri to combat pre e so this may be an underlying condition.

Ignore Pegasus he has a tendency to provide no useful information at all. I’m currently on 150mg of sertraline and it has cured my PE mostly (I had really bad PE before ssri) - I didn’t choose to take SSRI’s for this reason it’s just a nice side effect but I actually want to come off and taper off. How quickly did you taper off the drug? I’ve been recommended a very slow taper to reduce withdrawals and PE is one of the main withdrawals people get. I have read too that it may go away. Did you have PE before taking SSRI?

Sigh point is if you are taking ssri you have not "cured " pre e you have just got around the symptoms . What should guys wih pre e do ? Go to the pre e forum read up and treat the actual issue and get cured for real.

No I have never had pe before this. I didn’t have pe and then went on ssri. I was on ssri for depression and ocd. I was on for about 10 years, escitalopram for the last 4 or 5. When I was on them there were times I couldn’t reach climax. Before I was on ssri even when I first started having sex I could last a decent amount of time. But now I’ve weaned off medication for the first time in years, I have pe symptoms which have lasted about a month maybe a little more now.
