Decided to track my progress on this forum, share note, solicit feedback, and try to stay accountable to the community here. Really excited to get started (continue, I've been at it for a few weeks now!) on this journey.
I'm on an extended holiday right now (6 weeks off every 2 years, whoo), so I've had time to get my routine right and figure out what works for me. The challenge will be come early January when I have to get back in to my daily routine, but I hope have most of the kinks worked out by that point so that I can make the transition smoothly.
Right now, I'm on a 2 day-on/1 day-off 6 week rotation. I started w/ a BPEL of 165m and a MLEG of 105mm on Nov 29th. Since that day, with very minimal exceptions and deviations, I've been following the aforementioned 2 day-on, 1 day-off pattern and performing:
* A 10 minute warmup with a hot washcloth (refreshed in a hot sink every 2 to 3 minutes);
* Simultaneous with this warmup, 100 kegels, 5-second holds, 1-second rest in betweem reps - this helps make the warmup a bit more productive, I think;
* Side-to-side stretches from Big Al's jelq-free routine, about 300 reps currently (up from 50 or so when I started) - this only takes about 4 minutes to complete;
And then EITHER (i.e., I alternate these, such that I perform one of each on successive days in each 2 day-on period):
* Squeezes from Big Al's jelq-free routine, 5-second duration, 50 reps; or
* 100 jelqs, with 1 rep consisting of the use of both the right and left hand.
I end with a 5 minute hot washcloth cool down period, during which I usually take a shower.
I'm not one to obsessively monitor results (for fear I'll get discouraged, actually), but I took one set of measurements a few days ago and clocked in w/ a BPEL of 177mm and a MLEG of 114mm. I'm sure I didn't 12mm in length and 9mm of girth in 3 weeks, but I credit this difference both to improved measurement procedures and probably also a bit to an increase in EQ. I won't measure again until the end of my sixth week (January 8th). I think I'll also measure at the end of that week (January 15th) to see if there's been any loss of gains during that rest week.
I felt encouraged to start this progress log in part because of how good I felt after today's workout - everything felt and looked really good afterwards, I focused a lot on form and felt like I was performing the exercises really well for the first time, and don't feel like I'm getting bored or tired with the exercises since I've started alternating between squeezes and jelqs.
