  • Measuring Girth

Ok I must've measured 20 times or more in about 10 minutes. I get a different result everytime. Anywhere from 6.0 to 6.375. It seemed like as was getting better towards the end using the string method. I found a decent way to get my thumbnail on the string to mark the measuring point. Even still, the results vary quite a bit.

Do you guys do an average measure for girth or what? What's your thing.

I couldn't get accurate with the string, kept throwing up wild measurements. Tape measues ideal Even that varies if the numbers are on the inside or outside. When i started i realised i was slightly tightening the tape and getting a lesser reading.

Ater many attempts at measuring girth I have finally succeeded! Here's the secret -

      1. Cut a piece of string about two inches longer than what you need.
      2. On one end of the string fold over the loose hanging thread and use your Lotion / PJ while rolling it between your thumb and forefinger to make a nice flat end. This will give you the ability to measure up to a 1/16th of an inch!
      3. If you're using lube to arouse yourself make sure you give the string a decent layer of lube all over and handle it a little so that the moisture doesn't change the length halfway through your measuring attempts. It doesn't need to be soaked with lube just remember you'll be laying it across your lubed up penis so after two or three measures it'll be a different string.

Now here's the tricky part -

      5. Lay the end of the string that you flattened at a point just before or just after the area you expect to measure up to. Probably your current girth but you could go an 1/8th inch past if you like.
      6. While holding this perfectly still slightly stretch the string so that it comes down to the zero length marking, you should have at least an inch of string sticking out beyond this.
      7. Now you need to move your hand near your current girth number closer to the zero length so that you can use your other hand to grab a pen with. It may take several attempts to get this correct as the string will want to move and curl slightly when you move your hand that's holding it down.
      8. Mark the string at the zero length with a pen in your free hand. Try and roll the string so you can mark it all teh way around.

      Voila!

Now gain your erectino and measure away. If you marked your string correctly you shouldn't see any deviations greater than an 1/8th inch, which is probably due to your EQ on multiple attempts.

For measuring most of the shaft I use a cloth tape measure. I flare out quite a bit at the base, and it is hard to get an accurate measure there using a tape measure because of the scrotal skin. I have had good luck using a thin piece of polypropylene cord. Just wrap the cord around perpendicular to the shaft until it touches, but doesn't indent the skin, wrap it back on itself, make a mark across both strands with a soft tip pen, stretch the cord out on a ruler and measure between marks.

I was looking at a site that sells cylinders for pumping that recommended using a string rather than a tape measure for measuring maximum girth for tube selection because they felt it was more accurate.

Yeah the string is going to be more accurate. First of all depending on the size of your chord you could be gaining or losing a 1/16th of an inch. Secondly, the width of your pen will also cause a gain/loss of another 1/16th of an inch or maybe more. You would have to make sure that you measure the inside of one mark and the outside of another. Or the middle of each. Either way it would be mroe difficult to do.
