My one big goal with all of this is to master my body. That means being strong, being big enough, be flexible (and strong in that flexibility ... I want to do a high kick and hold that position). All of that plus having impressive definition. So far getting this means training like a gymnast.
I want awesome health, which to me means that my body functions as optimally as I know how, while falling ill very infrequently, regardless of exposure to sickness and disease in my environment. What I'm discovering is how this is achievable through a diet high in plant-based nutrition.
Kind of a tall order to get all of this. I feel that as a personal trainer, my body shows my credibility. If I gave presentations on diet and nutrition and talked about the health benefits but found myself to be sick a lot, then I feel like that would damage my credibility. How could I be trusted to deliver a system of exercise that would build size and strength if I was small and weak? I never understood how overweight trainers get clients. To me, that makes as much sense as hiring a poor person to do your taxes and plan your spending.
Realman, you should plot your progress. I'd be interested in reading it. I don't know any other websites out there where I can talk to people about this sort of stuff. I tried bodybuilding.com, but I feel like that website is full of one-track-minded people and girly men who shave their chest. I should probably give it more of a chance, though I do find myself resenting how they encourage calorie counting, body-fat monitoring and selfies as though you were a teenaged girl going through body-image issues.
