*Not sure where I should post this considering the amount of things I talk about, so if any mods feel it should go in another forum then feel free to move it.
Hey everyone. Bear with me as this is long, but it is a scenario I figure a good amount of you have gone through, and that certain lurkers may be wondering to themselves as well, and I feel I need to get it out here to at least have it out for thoughts. For the sake of relevance, here is a very quick back story of mine. I'm 19 years old, I graduated high school last year. During this little-over a year period I've been trying to find a job, but have been unable to with how rough prospects are here, though I plan to start school within the coming year to do something with myself. My penis is 4 inches long when erect, and has a girth of about 4.7 inches. For comparison, I'm 5'8'' and weigh 140 pounds. I'm a virgin, and I've never gone farther than making out with the two girlfriends I've had (though I honestly don't mind that). What I do mind is the way I feel about myself down there.
There has been a rather gradual shift in my emotional pattern these last few months, in that I've slowly been feeling more and more insecure about my penis size. Deep down I always knew I wasn't impressive, but once I got into researching and looking up information, I realized that I was in the far lower end of what is commonly considered average. Part of the reason this annoys me so much, and why its only recently that I've gotten so down about it, is because for most of my life I always had other things to worry about. I had a lot of acne, I wasn't very athletic, my clothes didn't show me off for the better, I didn't know how to talk to girls, and in general I wasn't confident in who I was. Now I'm by now means perfect at this point, but I can honestly say that all of those things have improved. My acne is gone and has been for a while, I wear clothes that I like and that compliment me well. I'm not very social (by choice), but I no longer have any issues talking to girls or to random people that I may not know. Although I'm not yet satisfied, my taking up exercising has toned and given me a better body than I ever have. I love my personality, and in general life my confidence has skyrocketed with these improvements. But as you can tell by my presence here, not all is well.
Once I got around to improving these things I realized that, although FAR from a Casanova or heart-throb, I had the potential to attract girls I previously wouldn't have thought I had a shot with. On the occasions that I do go out and do things with friends at the mall or what-have-you, I at least get a few good looks from some of the girls my age, whereas before I never got any. A good number of girls I've befriended online have even commented positively on my apperance without me even hinting curiosity. Awesome, right? Surprisingly enough, this is where my main issue comes from; I'm afraid that the day I'm in a great relationship with a girl I like, and things become sexual, that she won't be able to get aroused and enjoy sex due to my small dick. I'm afraid that the more awesome and sexually-open she is, the more it would not only hurt to lose her, but the more chance there is that she's had a lot better sexually and I won't be able to measure up to it. I'm afraid that, whether it's in that moment or a matter of weeks, that she won't feel the urge to be with me anymore and depart for greener (or should I say bigger) pastures.
It's as if I've been fighting a war with myself all my life, and just when the dust looked settled and I was beginning to draft some peace treaties, a larger and much more dangerous front has suddenly opened up to begin the doubting all over again.
I know what some of you might be thinking, because I've thought a lot about it too. A girl is far more interested in me as a whole than just your penis, I shouldn't be worried about size as girls don't think about it as much as guys do, there's always oral sex and direct clitoral stimulation, etc. But a lot of those things ignore something I know is true: I don't want to just be good in bed, I want to make a girl feel as good as she would be making me feel. And I don't know if I'll be able to do that with the 4 inches I have. I may be a virgin but I know sexuality is very important in making a relationship work, and I hate the thought that it may be the only department I won't be able to do well in.
I personally would never buy any pills, supplements, herbs and devices that would claim to increase my size, both because I don't believe in them and because I don't have the money for them if I did. However, I did come across this site during my searching, and came in with a skepticism that is still a bit present. What's in this site though, I must admit, has had me thinking a lot these last couple of days (JP's beginner routine in specific) especially with how many posters are around here. It would seem that here would lie the only potential way for me to increase my size a bit, safely and naturally. I've always valued the concept of the self, that if I am going to change something about myself it has to be because I want to, and I have to be 100 percent into it. I don't know if I want to do this yet, there is a part of me that thinks I'm crazy for even considering it. I don't want to mess up my penis, and I'd much rather have a 4-incher than one that doesn't work at all. But at the same time, I obviously have an issue on my hands if I even decided to come here. Heck, it bugs me when I see a thread asking about whether a 5.5 or 6.5 inch penis can satisfy a girl, when in my head I go "Dude, I would KILL to have that".
I guess what I want to know is; at what point do I sacrifice the way I am to better the way I think about myself? I know I have a small penis, but is my issue one of confidence? Am I justified in how paranoid I am? Is it better to stay with my current size and suffer trial and error to find a girl who will love me for who I am, or do I try and work for an extra inch or two, that may not come, so I can worry about it less?
I'm aware this is a question I will have to answer for myself soon enough, but I would greatly appreciate perspectives that aren't coming from my own mind.
