  • Confidence = Vulnerability

    Hey guys, check this out:

Brené Brown: The power of vulnerability | Video on TED.com

Confidence = self-assuredness = self-worth = worthy of being loved = willingness to be vulnerable

Being vulnerable is sexy, guys! Note, though, that this tends to attract women that are down-to-earth, secure, intelligent, communicative, and expressive. These women tend to want serious long-term relationships.
    Starting (3/14/2011) = 5" x 4"
    Current (7/16/2013) = 5.75" x 4.125"

    Short-Term Goal = BPEL 6"
    Long-Term Goal = 7.5" x 5.5"

I have always wondered how to be confident, hell, I still wonder, but she is right. The few times I have felt awesome were the times that I opened myself up to failure, success, happiness, sadness, anger, and everything else, these were the times I felt happy, that maybe I felt confident. Sure recently I felt awful when I took the chance and maybe went a little too vulnerable or maybe it was how I clung to what I was attempting, hard for me to know.

I have been having....I guess fun getting out there and enjoying life for the first time these last few weeks because I have opened myself up to the world rather than me shutting myself off, worrying if I will be accepted and belonged in this world.

I am damn sure I am worthy of everything she is talking about, but I am going to have to grow out of my shell.

I concur with this. I'm very confident...........my problem is finding the right woman that complements me............haven't found her yet. Hopefully some day soon.....

I've just started reading this book, and it has touched a lot on vulnerability as a means of confidence. Opening myself up and such. It's a good read so far.

My woman shared this article with me. I think it's because she finds it sexy when I become vulnerable and open up to her. <3

Decided to revive this thread with another great video. Ask, selflessly (as opposed to selfishly), ask with something else to offer in return, ask with a vision that includes everyone, and you'll be surprised how much love and trust there is in the world.

Confident, vulnerable, not hiding anything. Show yourself and share yourself; your whole self, even the parts that may be ugly; they are not ugly.

Had some thoughts about PUA that I wanted to vent here.

I've read in some PUA books, that they say you will approach 20 women in order to leave with 1. Others might claim a 10:1 ratio. That's a 5-10% success rate. How can they claim that PUA is successful with a 10% success rate? That's a dismal failure in my eyes.

On the other hand, every single time I've engaged in a vulnerable, intimate conversation, each time it resulted in a deeper understanding of one another, a deeper relationship, and greater intimacy. That's a 100% success rate. In addition, all of the women that have been interested in me since my divorce, showed greater attraction after having learned of the things that PUA would consider "lower value:" my divorce, my father's death, my abused childhood...

I was just talking to my roommate about this. What came out of my mouth was something like this:

It takes courage to show who I am, without hiding anything, in the face of rejection. This is confidence.
Hiding my flaws, pretending they don't exist, or not talking about them is a sign of weakness of character, shame of self.
Instead of pretending to have higher value, I'd rather actually hold higher value of myself. People will figure it out when they interact with me.
                            Starting (3/14/2011) = 5" x 4"
                            Current (7/16/2013) = 5.75" x 4.125"

                            Short-Term Goal = BPEL 6"
                            Long-Term Goal = 7.5" x 5.5"

Hmm, I think alot of real girls appreciate the openness. The first few times me and my last girlfriend hung out, I realize that I was very open, I had just moved out and was facing a rough patch in life and she knew alot about me after a short period of time. It must have had alot bigger of an impact than I thought because it clearly worked.
I have no problem being with just one woman, but I can't not eat all the donuts.
