I have written some hard posts before but this will be my hardest. Please read it.
The other day, Wednesday November 25, 2015, I wrote about a friend of mine on the be thankful thread who was sick and I should give him a call. As near as I could tell, about the time I was writing that post my friend died. He was a friend who taught me much,a friend who's hand I never touched, who's smile I never got to see with my own eyes, but yet we were friends. I knew him as John; you all knew him as JonPop, the white tiger!
John was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a vet and a friend and mentor to many of us here. Let me tell you some things you don't know. Although the last few years he didn't post as much he did read everything. He cared and he worried about all of us. Oh yes he may have been a bit grumpy on a post or two but that was always about care for this place and you. He often got in touch with me to go tell a member he was doing this wrong or he was going to hurt him self or try it this way for a better result. He cared about you and me equally.
I cannot say enough about this man I called friend, this man who made a great contribution to all those he came in contact with. Forget the pe stuff; he was so very much more than that. For the first time in my life I am having trouble writing and maybe a bit of trouble reading. It just seems things are a bit watery right now.
I am having a hard time not crying for the loss of my friend. If he knew he would laugh. It is a loss for me, for those that have loved a man so rare, and for all of us he whom he befriended, mentored, and taught. I shall miss him greatly.
We will meet again my dear friend, but not yet, not just yet. Someone has got to keep an eye on what you started.
You are at peace John, you're happy, you're with your wife who passed a few years ago; you are home. May God love you and keep you close to Him always.
If any of you wish to comment please do so. If you have nothing to say, as words at this time may be hard, just make a post with a simple smiley face. He would get a kick out of that.
God bless you JonPop; the white tiger will roam forever and God bless all of you!
