The process of stopping the addiction won't work that way. Look at people trying to quit cigars by reducing the number of packs/cigars per day. It's just not effective.

Yes I was in a relationship.
I had sex before, during and after. Regaining the wonderful pleasure that sex can give, was a bit of a challenge. But this was the easiest part and the enjoyment of having sex is still increases beyond anything that was before.
I think that having a partner, a sex life and having people around you, are a big help no matter where you at. I think we as humans need to interact with other people (in our family, in couple, at work, with friends, etc). This is something that will help us gain stability much easier.
