  • Weird...

My Girlfriend called me the other night and was in a bit of a panic, but still a little calm. She said she had an STD.

I kind of chuckled to myself like, I know for a fact I didn't do anything outside. I KNOW she didn't do anything, so what on earth could it be? She said i should get tested and what not, so I just backed her back off the ledge. She said she'd gotten "it" from her previous BF and she was having symptoms again. Terrified that she'd given it to me.

I said, "It's okay, if it's not AIDS, it can be cured. Nothing to be afraid about." she said "Oh it's nothing huge like that, but they just gave me the same anti-biotic to take." she just broke down crying again. I said "what? What's the anti-biotic?"

When she told me, I chuckled in my mind again. I immediately knew what it was... and it wasn't an STD or an STI. She was suffering from BV.

I told her to calm down it's okay, it's nothing serious, and that she should just take the medication... the full course, and follow up with her physician...

    My question is...

how do you prevent BV from happening and how easy is it to contract? What's the best precautions for keeping from happening?

*sigh* THIS is why I would never want to own a vagina... OMG just lots and lots of sex can cause this (which we have).

On a side note, her wigging out about an STD, I had an eery calm about me... I knew for a fact she wasn't stepping out on me (cheating), and that was an amazing feeling. LOL

    STD Facts - Bacterial Vaginosis

Seems like it's not so much of an STD as it is just an imbalance in her vaginal pH and other levels that causes bacteria to multiply. Kind of like a yeast infection.
    Starting (3/14/2011) = 5" x 4"
    Current (7/16/2013) = 5.75" x 4.125"

    Short-Term Goal = BPEL 6"
    Long-Term Goal = 7.5" x 5.5"

Wow did you have to write that post like that? It was so scary EFFFF!!

I know some women with compromised immune systems (doesn't mean HIV just means they have weak immune systems) will get that over and over. I have only had it once in my life and it was after a surgery. The good news, like you told her, is to take the medication

I recommend after a month that she go get a full blood work done. She may have a glucose problem or something else that is off that needs to be address.

WOW I am sure you were so relieved. Poor girl

lol! I wasn't scared I thought it was funny she was so worked up.

I was worried that she was going to say I was sleeping around on her at first, but when she laid that to rest, I knew off top what it was. I actually told her before she got clarification from her OB/GYN that she probably had BV, she said "you were right, they said it was BV" LOL!

This is what I mean when I say "The vag is like a Ferrari" LOL! you can break it so easily!

I'd heard about BV a long time ago, knew about it for years. just don't know what you can do to stop it from happening.
