  • Intimate conversation.

So I started a new relationship recently and the new girl is pretty cool in so many ways. One of the things that I have trouble with her though is conversing with her. She wants every conversation to be intimate and soul bearing, and honestly I enjoy those type of conversations since I'm an individual who wares his heart on his sleeve. I just know that I can't do that, and don't want to be doing that all the time. I can hold a small conversation and even long conversations, I just know that as the relationship progresses there will be less and less for us to talk about, since we are getting to know each other more and more. Anyhow I'm just wondering what other ladies thoughts are on this.

The beginning fishing is so important for women. We are emotional and need to hear and see ( action). Both are very important. I think this stage lasts a few weeks to a month. We rush to get into the comfy zone and feel safe ( mentally and physically).
Once there we lay off of it a lot and normal conversation on day to day stuff happens.

It's a great time for you to talk about whatever you want as much as you want. Doesn't have to be intimate stuff. She may reply changing the direction back to intimate and she may retain most of what you say lol

Can you grin and bare it? Please

Thanks Islander. I can bear it, I just have a weird feeling that this is not a weeks or month thing. I'm pretty sure this need of hers, is something that will be continual. I will stick it out a couple more weeks and see if we start to relax into a comfort zone, where not every conversation has to be super meaningful. This kind of really sucks since the sex is great, and we both appreciate each others body's and mind so much. Not to mention there are no games between us, and I feel free to be 100% honest with her. Oh well c'est la vie.

            Hi calgarycman,
It seems to me that the direction of your conversation should be in reverse. By that I mean, small talk usually starts first, casual subject matter and then intimate conversation, emotional soul bearing etc. Islander is correct when she writes that women enjoy being emotionally "safe". To me, unless the relationship is taking a forward direction and a deeper understanding of where it's going; not every conversation needs to be super meaningful.
            Consciousness and intention matter here.

Women are emotional creatures. We need to feel loved and connected. The next time she starts getting all mushy, let her know nicely that if you guys know everything about each other this early in the relationship then there won't be anything else to know about each other. Smile a little when you let her know that you like to be a little mysterious and that you like a little mystery. Don't down play her feelings, but just give the hint. Then change the subject like talking about something that made you think of her, or how your day was.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.
I will never apologize for being me. People should apologize for asking me to be anything else.
