I think in the attempt to understand the other sexes, we forget how similar we actually are.

Same for guys. For short term flings, trysts, or hook-ups, shallow and purely physical attraction can be enough. There's no real commitment intended, so certain flaws that would be unacceptable in the long term are overlooked.

But with partnership in mind, or a genuine relationship, then a deeper connection and acceptance needs to be reached. Then the person as a whole comes into play, and compatibility.

Maybe what happened is a short term thing turned into more when she got to know you better, and realized there was more than what first appeared. You still had that initial attraction, but there was more to connect to.

I am an average looking guy height 5.6. The first day my saw me college told her cousin she would never like to talk tome. But when I ask her why you then got turned on. The guys I'd dated when I was younger I'd now say were dicks honestly. They weren't 'bad boys' but just not what I'd now say were husband or longterm relationship material. A lot of young guys aren't respectful of girls & hormones pretty much rule their thinking. Shocker. lol.
Now there's no way I'd even entertain the idea of dating a guy who was disrespectful, cocky or arrogant. But I'm also in my late 30's. I'd say with life experience, career, children, age and maturity what you look for in someone you'd date changes.

Perhaps money is a bigger factor to women who aren't professionals & do not have a career. I wouldn't be with a guy who was a jackass JUST for his money or his dick. But it's also true that women who are confident and independent also would most likely be around more men who were as well and therefore their income would also be comparable or even more for the man. My husband makes over twice what I do. But i won't stay with him for that reason. And when we got married he was working at a McDonalds, but had been unemployed for awhile & I had a better job & paid the bills. So money sure as hell wasn't a factor.
And maybe I'm missing the boat but I'd never waste my time with someone I wasn't 'into' just cause he had a big dick. That thought even makes me laugh. We aren't gonna fuck ALL day so wth am I gonna do with him when we aren't? lol 😜
