My question here is simple. After having a talk with my girlfriend she told me that sometimes during sex she can have 5-10 climaxes. Now we talked about orgasms and she said yeah yeah I have one orgasm but im fairly new to having orgasms thats why. Then I asked her whats the difference between a climax and an orgasm and she said I honestly dont even know, are they the same things? I said well then whats the feeling like and she said an orgasm its a release of muscles but a climax its like the muscles tightening but they just dont release. So my question for ladies is, is a orgasm the same as a climax? if not what are the differences?

As pleasure builds there comes a point when it does not build up further, and may recede a little. The highest pleasure point is a climax. These peaks and valleys are normal, and wonderful and come and go throughout.
The orgasm is a little different as it is similar to male orgasm where PONR hits and then muscles uncontrollably quiver and release. Just like your orgasm. If you train yourself you can learn to have multiple male orgasms, dry orgasms, and experience similar sensations to what she is trying to explain to you. Then when you want to you can have a release orgasm.ALL THE WAY WITH GOOD OLE JAY!

Unless there is a new definition out there they are one and the same. Is just that some people say the culmination is climax while the build up feeling even if you don't get the bells and whistles is an orgasm.Mrs. L4M

I have seen images of women trying to display their orgasm pictorially and it just looks like a series of lines going in circles haywire whereas men would draw straight or curved lines with a clear start and end point so maybe that's just how it feels for a girl. It's still a mystery to most of us

Hey silversid23,
As others have indicated, most people use "climax" and "orgasm" interchangeably. However, from what you have written, your gal considers them to be two different things. I would be interested in knowing why or perhaps where she learned to differentiate the two.
From what you have written it, I believe she considers climaxing to be all the pleasurable sensations leading up to but not including the orgasm. For her, the orgasm is thought of as a separate experience altogether or so it seems.
