OK, so simply to confirm the suggested theory behind the anecdotal evidence, the cool down is meant to somewhat solidify the collagen in order to cement gains?
Whilst this is most likely the case, another suggestion is its possible it could be the contrast between being in a warm state to a cold state that would trigger the stretching. With 'contrast showers' or 'hot and cold showers' having been quite popular in many athletic/gym circles for stretching muscles that are very tight from DOMS it could possibly be this that is facilitating the extra flaccid length? Just a suggestion that perhaps a trial of alternating hot and cold water would be useful. I'd offer myself, and probably will sometime soon, but I am yet to try the cool down and am also only just starting the newb routine after some serious lurking so have little to compare to. I've been documenting all my PI's so I am planning to switch to Dustpan's suggestion of a cold/cool towel around the shaft for 8-10 minutes and see if there is any change in flaccid length post-routine. Good to see there is alot of trial and error and challenging of the accepted theory and looking forward to trying it out and weighing in my own experience.

Yeah usually when i warm down my unit contracts while in the thermipac that i put in the microwave. Lately been usin a silicone sleeve and i warm down in a stretched state. Would warming down in a stretched state help as well? I am going to attempt that cooldown method with the sleeve on and see how it works. I guess since i am wearing the sleeve and will keep it on hours after a workout, then what is the best method to choose here with a sleeve is the question hmm

Hmm, this is curious. Most cool down techniques for athletes were created to reduce the inflammatory responses after an intense workout or, injury. Especially, the concepts of getting into ice water to force the blood back into the core of the body. This helps reduce inflammation and acid build up in the muscle.
It's an interesting concept but, I'm not sure that the penis could benefit from this technique.
