  • On supplements...

JP's routine suggests taking the following supplements:

    1 Super B complex.
    1 Multi Vitamin & Minerals.
    1 60 mg Zinc.
    2 500mg L-Arginine capsule.
    1 500 mg L-Lysine.

I'm not taking any yet. And I'm not going to without doing a little research on each of them first. Does anybody know why you should take each of these? I can't figure out why you should take the B complex pills if the multivitamin tablet already has them, the same for zinc. Why so much zinc? On the other hand I read that Arginine is produced by the body and is found in most foods too, so it shouldn't be nessesary to get them from somewhere else. I also read that an excess in Arginine will diminish your Lysine level, which your body does not produce by it's self, it also has an interesting list of undesirable side effects. I can understand taking the multivitamin & minerals tablets, I suppose these you should take even if you are not into exercising.

Does anybody here have a medical background as to give a solid answer? What about the dosage suggested above? What if you are already producing or consuming enough of some of these? Are these supplements intended to be taken without a medical prescription?

    What supplements are you taking?

they're exactly just that.. supplements. You dont need to take them, but if you're body lacks some of these then it will help compensate. Super B is for stress relief since proper mood is important for PE. L-argenine promotes blood flow.. the more you flow, the more you grow. Zinc builds a healthy immune system. Check how much zinc your multivitamin contains as too much is not good. This is what I learned before i added them to my routine. Sorry if this was hardly the medical answer you were looking for, but i hope it helped!

      Hey bro,

just do a quick google search.

I've tried all those supplements except for zinc and lysine.

L-arginine is the most important supplement for your dingdong.

Zinc increases testosterone production, but too much can be harmful. Do your research, bro.

      Moderation is key.

Zinc defecit is common and results in lowered libido etc, you can do a taste test for zinc defecit.
Lysine is there to balance the arginine, so there should be no side effects, it should be taken opposite times to arginine.
So if you take arginine morning take lysine night.

I'm also finding it hard to find l-argine and l-lysine by their own in local places (Argentina), there are a lot of aminoacid supplements but they include a hole lot of stuff. And I've been reading about the multi vitamin and minerals tablets, and apparently most of the are not very good, you have to keep away from synthesized vitamins and look for the natural ones.

On the other hand each one of those supplements is costing about 60 Argentine pesos each, it would cost me a good amount of money to get the hole pack. So I'll have to set priorities. Is it the aminoacids or the vitamins that are most important?

Are any of the supplements going too get me all fat if I don't exercise very much? I go jogging 20 minutes 1 day on and 2 days off, that's all I have time for now, as then I take some time for stretching.

jmath, if you're not contempt with the information and advise given by the amazing people at this forum and you find yourself "needing" medcial facts and information about the supplements you are talking about, then I would suggest you read "The Hardness Factor" by Steven Lamm, M.D. (Google that). It has all the basic information you need about the supplements and you can find A LOT of information just by using the fabulous interweb, although you would need to filter sources and read with a critical eye, et c. I say... get the book, talk to the knowledgeable people here, form an opinion of your own and just go for it - you won't know until you've tried!

Actually jmath pe can be done without supplements, if money is a major problem. We just feel they can give a little extra boost.

Yes, I have the proof here between my legs, no supplements yet and I've had some progress. Although I have hurt myself a little, so I stopped exercising for a while. I just thought that maybe the supplements would make it safer, specially if they help tissues heal quicker. For now I'm just going to take it easy, I suppose that as long as I have positive indicators there is no need for supplements.
