It will give you something to build and look forward to, taking your mind off your problem. I do hindi squats and practice reverse kegels. Although i've found reverse kegels haven't really been helping my issue, just giving me more pelvic pain. Normal kegels make the issue worst too. I could possibly have a mixture of both a tight and weak pelvic floor.
Joeeee, have you gotten the back and leg pain issues resloved? Did you mention these to your PT treating the pelvic floor issues?
Offering the history of back and leg pain may be more helpful to him than seems possible to you. Just a thought.
Great to hear you are staying proactive and following through with his recommendations.
Keep it up! You can beat this problem. It feels good when you find someone who genuinely seems to want to help eh? Happy for you!

i've seen a few physio's who've assessed me and said my leg was fine, although one did notice i wasn't putting as much weight on it. I can see a very slight bow in my right leg. I have a lot of pain on the bottom of my foot, burning knee cap, and pain in my right hip and right butt cheek. I get a lot of tingling down my right side. i don't know if my leg is causing the problem or whether its coming from my pelvic floor. I will make a point of next time! But thank you man, it does feel good to atleast have some hope of fixing this problem!

Okay guys, i've been doing a lot of reverse kegels lately and they seem to be making my problem worse. I get a lot of burning and penis pain about an hour after ejaculation. And my pelvis aches, and i get involuntary reverse kegels? haha, but if i do kegels i get pain too and involuntary kegels haha. i can't win, any advise? i think trigger point therapy will help.

You need to stop doing any form of straining in the pelvic floor for awhile. Don't forget RK's work the pelvic floor as well.

Yes, you're right. You must try trigger point therapy. Both outer and inner, I mean inner by "inside the asshole".

Then you can start up kegels slowly again. People think it's impossible to get hurt with RK's, clearly not the case.

I wonder if part of my problem lies in the piriformis muscle. When i vigorously lifted weights at the start of last year i may have caused an inflammation there. Literally all of my pain is in my right buttock, right hip, right thigh and right knee cap which has a burning sensation there, and the right side of my groin (pudenal nerve) tingling down my right side. The pain is daily, and is much worse with sitting. Walking is difficult all the time. Something to consider? can this be treated?

how does trigger point therapy actually work? i went to see gerard almost two weeks ago but never actually asked as is was basically my intro session (going back on wednesday) been doing my usual pelvic floor release stretches and belly breaths + reverse kegels (taking some getting used to and if im doing it right, really difficult on the out breath rather than the in breath, what do you feel when doing these?) he told me my pelvic floor is extremely tight (tightest he'd experienced apparently) which explains my hard flaccid problem, he's gearing me up for using the magic wand, but i may have to use dilators if i havent loosened up in time, he vaguely mentioned about using the wand to push either side of the muscle, cant wait for this problem to fuck off

A physio should be fully onto this.

Yes it can be treated. You might consider a chiropractor also. Ask the physical therapist. It sounds like sciatica.

I'm not 100 percent sure, but the basic idea is that the physio presses down and holds on these trigger points, and releases the tightness and tension in the muscle allowing the blood to flow normally again.

Trigger points are actually myofascial restrictions which impede proper functioning of one or more motor units within the muscle.
Think of fascia as a continuous "spider web" all through your body surrounding every cell in the body. Fascia is the glue that holds all our cells together. So if you get a restriction in the fascia it compresses muscle fibers and prevents them from working properly, and usually causes the muscle to assume a hypertonic (too tense) state. The pressure you apply to the "trigger point" begins an unwinding process within the fascia, allowing it to realign. This removes the pressure from the affected motor unit, allowing the muscle to once again function as it should.
The pressure doesn't have to be extreme. In fact, it should start lightly and the wand you are using will eventually feel as though it sinks into the tissue you are releasing. Don't let up when you feel the release, as secondary releases are not uncommon.
Most in the myofascial release field suggest that it takes 90-120 seconds for the release to occur so don't rush it. Apply the pressure and wait. If you can reach the area with your hands, I prefer this method as you can often feel the release happen with the hand applying the pressure and this gets you more in tune with your body. The wand is a good tool though.
It is critical that you maintain very good hydration while treating myofascial conditions, so drink 8-10 ozs of water every hour throughout the day.
I hope this helps in some way.
Good luck and I hope that condition is fucking off very soon!
