I forgot to mention I did Intermittent Fasting for majority of these 12 weeks that I've been dieting. A ****genic diet (no carbs not sure why it's censored) and intermittent fasting coupled has displayed in countless scientific journals to do AMAZING things for fat loss as well as raising your insulin sensitivity (the opposite of diabetes). I'm a college student so I don't have the luxury of being able to afford tons of red meat or salmon if I did I would definitely incorporate that into my diet. I typically eat tons of eggs, chicken, cheese, extremely low carb almond milk or a variation such as cashew, red meat/salmon when I get the opportunity, broccoli, spinach, avocados, walnuts, almonds, grass fed butter. I basically have all of those things everyday. I didn't calculate my macros or calories at all the whole way through until I started to get lean to the point where I had to be more precise to keep the progress going which is around now. The only thing I did keep track of since I started was to make sure that my daily net carb intake was less than 20g everyday. Since I lost the 35 lbs I feel amazing, I'm no longer tired 24/7 and lack energy through out the day. I feel well rested after I wake up in the morning no matter how little sleep I get. Whereas previously I could sleep 9+ hours and feel more tired and sluggish than ever.

Canned Tuna is very cheap and a great source of low fat protein. I likes with hot sauce and fresh cracked pepper. Also just plain old skim milk, hold the Oreos damn it.A prayer, is kinda the same as a "Like". If there are enough likes, God will take notice. So "Like" away please. My daughter needs your prayers. Thank You.

Yes, side effects should subside within a week or two and the bad breath will go away provided you stay in K*to. You can still have a small amount of carbs but be very careful if you haven't yet been punished for the accidental sugar intake, directly or through drinking. In that case, be prepared to get an ab workout while praying to the porcelain gods lol. On that note, if you partake, we find Courvoisier to be a nice choice that is friendly.Originally posted by bigplayre View PostI'll be the first to admit that I did experience a carb withdrawal flu the first week of the diet. I had mood swings, energy level dropped, libido dropped, no EQ practically 0. I was really concerned about this diet not being the right thing to do, I realized I was just trying to find a way out using excuses. After two weeks, my body adjusted and I had none of those issues felt decent. Only lingering side effect it will give you is really bad breath in the mornings.

It is hard but anything worth anything is. Its about priorities.
And you can move your eating window to suit. I just stick to OMAD. Anything i want to eat, any amount of cals etcWomen were created from the rib of man to be beside him, not from his head to top him, nor from his feet to be trampled by him, but from under his arm to be protected by him, near to his heart to be loved by him.

How the crap do you only eat 20g of carbs?! lol. That's insane. Today I ate a lot of greek yogurt, salad, chicken, eggs. I ate between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Hoping I'll actually see some results within the next couple weeks.Originally posted by bigplayre View PostI forgot to mention I did Intermittent Fasting for majority of these 12 weeks that I've been dieting. What's OMAD? And good to know I can move the hours around. Some days 12 to 6 wouldn't work well for me.Originally posted by Tara123 View PostIt is hard but anything worth anything is. Its about priorities.

Also, is it a big deal if I end my day with no where near close to the amount of calories I was supposed to eat? I'm 5'6" 160. Was going for 2,000 calories but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be over 500 short today.Last edited by Swimbarracuda; 12-27-2018, 07:38 PM.6/23/16 (Start)

OMAD is one meal all day.
Dont get to hung up on the average 2000 cals a day you should eat. Its average and depending on age, muscle mass, activity level etc everyone should have different amounts of daily cals to keep them alive. There is a equation online whereupon to can work out exactly how many cals you need to survive.
Just listen to your body and try to eat clean 80% of the time during your eating window.Women were created from the rib of man to be beside him, not from his head to top him, nor from his feet to be trampled by him, but from under his arm to be protected by him, near to his heart to be loved by him.

Lmao, it's not easy but it gets the results quicker. And I recommend you do the same thing Tara mentioned, use an online calculator to get your TDEE there's a website called IIFYM that has one that's pretty good. When you do get your calorie amount to be in a deficit I would prefer to stick really close to it, you don't want to be too low all the time then you'll start having a harder time losing more fat once you get really low in body fat because you're not going to end up eating a couple hundred calories a day and feeling healthy.Originally posted by Swimbarracuda View PostHow the crap do you only eat 20g of carbs?! lol. As others stated, it depends on your lifestyle. Do you work an active job or a sedentary one. Also, compare that to your lifestyle when you're not working. You cannot follow the label percentages for daily consumption as most people don't really fit the generality anymore.Originally posted by Swimbarracuda View PostHow the crap do you only eat 20g of carbs?! lol. I count macros using the My Fitness Pal app. There is no typing in, just scan using the product UPC, click the amount of servings, done. Sometimes you'll have to calculate servings if your eat more or less. You can also set goals, EX. lost weight, gain weight, maintain, build muscle, etc. You and I are about the same height and weight. During bulking, I'm around 160-170. I have to eat 3,000 + calories per day to build, DEPENDING ON THE DAY. If I'm at home relaxing, day trading, playing video games, researching, etc. then I'm going to be burning a lot less than I would be working as I have a highly active job. That being said, on those days I can get away with around 2,500 calories. But there is also no way on days like that, that I will be able to do a standard workout. My workouts are very high intensity and require a lot of fuel and if I haven't consumed enough to power through my workouts, I will most certainly crash (HARD) during, which keeps me from finishing.
Unfortunately, I'm highly dependent on carbs. Not very healthy, but to each his own. All things considered, I eat very clean.

CptnD have you thought of carb cycling? Keep the body guessing.Women were created from the rib of man to be beside him, not from his head to top him, nor from his feet to be trampled by him, but from under his arm to be protected by him, near to his heart to be loved by him.

I understand. Yeah I actually use that app as well. It's been a while since I've gone back to dieting and looking at macros and what not. But yeah I've started using it again. I'm at 160. Looking to drop down to 140 or 145. Then once I get there, I'll look at putting on more muscle.Originally posted by CptnD View PostAs others stated, it depends on your lifestyle. If you're looking to gain muscle/strength I wouldn't recommend carb cycling or doing a low carb diet. I'm doing this temporarily just to shred down to the single digits in body fat percentage. Once I do that I'm going to do an extremely high carb bulk along with a specific training program to help me regain 25-30 lbs of muscle I lost during all this time off.Originally posted by CptnD View PostNo I haven't. When I said I am highly dependent, I meant that by choice as well.

I wasn't dreaming of it. She was just suggesting an alternative to relying on carbs as a permanent energy source due to the unhealthiness of consuming high quantities.Originally posted by bigplayre View PostIf you're looking to gain muscle/strength I wouldn't recommend carb cycling or doing a low carb diet. I don't have a problem gaining muscle or strength. I generally stay ripped all year around, even during bulking. Thank God, I was just blessed with incredible genetics and a beast living inside me.....pain is weakness leaving the body

I'm actually really excited to start bulking I can't wait just need to finish the last bit of this cut. I'll make a thread about the progress I have with my cut and how I transition back into lifting weights and eating many carbs. Also, carbs aren't a bad energy source, it's just you gotta make sure you don't get more than you need and avoid the high glycemic index ones as your main sources.Originally posted by CptnD View PostI wasn't dreaming of it. . One time I tried to do it while not really exercising and then pretty much decided that was pointless since I really wasn't doing anything physically active at the time. Thanks Tara!
