It's all gonna be in your training routine and diet the routine you state probably wont cut it most ppl trying to put on large amounts of muscle use basic lifts and only a few different lifts each workout you definitely need to incorporate the 4 main lifts being bench press squat deadlift and shoulder press and go like 4 sets of 8-10 reps for a diet focus more on the protein content rather than calories you probably want to intake upwards of 200+ grams of protein a day and supplements wouldnt hurt either being in soccer and running as much as it seems like you do is going to try and reverse the effect your goin for so you have to make it up by lifting heavy and packing the protein

As a beginner, you don't need to train hard at all to see some good initial strength and mass gains. The main thing is just getting enough protein and calories.

Do a MWF workout, one day do squats-bench press-dead lift and the next session do squats-miltary press-power cleans, and keep alternating. 2-3 warmup sets and then 3 sets of 5 reps for your work set.
          Starting as of 2/1/11: 6.4 BPEL x 4.8 MSEG (5.6 NBPEL)
Just hoping to put together one full month of actually sticking to a routine and go from there.
My goals mainly revolve around developing high EQ erections that last during sex.

Well if you wanted to get big muscles and huge, then test boosters would help alot with that, but you mention about staying lean... The test boosters also will give you an greater appetite at the same time of adding the extra muscle from your workouts, that way you can easily down those 3k and 4k calorie shakes. If you are wanting to stay "lean" but just gain a little, well, just eat a "little" extra. If you were wanting to get big as possible, take the supplements and test boosters with your weight gaining shakes.

Be able to run 2 miles in under 20 minutes.
Be able to do 5+ pull ups in one set.
Be able to do 30+ pushups in one set.

If you are able to do these things, it means you probably look okay. It also means that your carbon suit, as Jackxxx would say, is in good shape for it's environment. That is what is important. Enjoy eating 4,000 calories per day, it won't last forever .
That it is quite similar to the marine corps fitness test

Take the Marine Corps Fitness Test | The Art of Manliness

great way to gauge fitness, regardless of body-weight or shape, if you can get a respectable score you are pretty fit!

Also it is really easy to try, you don't need any equipment, just a bar for pull-ups, a floor for crunches, and a 3 mile stretch to run

Yes, it's kind of like it except we don't do pushups. The PFT is fucking narly when you're trying to score a 300. Right now my PFT is sitting at a 292, which is still nasty but not perfect. A first class PFT in the USMC is a graded score of 225 or higher—75 crunches in two minutes, like 15 pull-ups and a 21-minute 3 miler. If you're enlisting, you're pft scores don't have to be first class, but if you're trying to do the officer route, you have to have a 275 score or higher to be competitive.

Hey man, I agree you better be in damn good shape to fight for this country. But for officer, why should your promotion (or whatever the term is) depend on your physical capabilities. Surely it makes more sense that superior intelligence should rule, and not the big ape that can no doubt kick everybody's ass, but can't count his own fingers?

Because Marine Officer's lead from the front. How can you expect to lead a bunch of Marines into combat but your own enlisted are superior to you in physical capabilities? The officer being out of shape undermines his own authority. This isn't the Airforce or Army, Marine officers are insanely in shape. Yes, intelligence matters. At OCS, you're grade was 25% physical, 25% academics and 50% leadership. If you're out of shape, then how can you expect to lead your own peers? How can stay awake to do combat patrols when you're running on empty and haven't slept? How can you motivate a Marine to push himself beyond his own capabilities but you're sucking air behind that PFC and telling him to push it harder?

We are intelligent. We had guys from Harvard, from Yale, from Brown—from all over this nation there—to become Marine officers. My test scores are high, my GPA from my D-1 university is 3.7. The standards of actual becoming a Marine officer is ridiculous. The rejection rate (of people who already have degrees) is high. I had to have two letters of recommendation from the Governor's office and from my state representative just to be considered.

Lastly, I don't appreciate your comment. You're inferring that one: my intelligence is lacking, and two: Marines in general are stupid. Officers of today are a different breed than you could possibly imagine (obviously, you still put stock into old stereotypes). Just because I look a certain way doesn't mean my intelligence just drops with every weight I lift. I got my degree in English with a emphasis on pre-law. I love books and I love reading and writing, but I also have a urge to go crack some skulls, lead Marines and honor this country. Paradox right? Lastly, you will never meet an unintelligent officer. You would have been weeded out a long time before you ever commissioned.
