Give it time AB2P. All through HS and College I could not break 160 because of Track.

Later got into weight lifting and it started slowly. At most 8 pounds a year until I reached 200ish. Gains were followed by frustrating plateaus. Then a period of gaining and yet another plateau. It just takes time.

Resistance training is the best avenue to put on muscle mass and add healthy weight to your frame.

Stay away from the MASS Shakes and Supplements. Believe me I did use them and I was not happy with the results.

After I checked my Ego at the Door I changed my workouts and dropped 20.
Believe me the wife and I like the look and I feel a heck of a lot better at 180.

I've been working out 2 hours a day. I'm getting ripped, but mass is hard to come by.
      Focus on the positive :D

im at 185 trying to get to 150 lbs with muscles. i dont wanna work on my legs i just wanna lose weight and get a big upper body. is it okay to work on my biceps, triceps, chests 5-6 days a week along with an hour or two of cardio everyday? on the 1-2 rest days i will be doing 1-2 hour cardio. is this safe?

Yeah it will be safe, it just won't be very effective. You can work the same muscles over and over for days or weeks on end... But your weight used, your form, and your performance is all going to take a nose dive. The only good thing that will happens is you'll teach your CNS to more effectively fire for certain movements, like doing endless crunches to be good at doing endless crunches, or doing pushups to work on form and make them easier. So working your arms chest and back everyday is going to be counterproductive in the long run. If you want you actually bigger and stronger then you need rest to rebuild your strength.

How can I put this a better way? Have you ever seen a really big guy at the gym work the same muscles every day of the week, skip leg day, and have anything to show for it? Exactly! Working out a lot and doing endless cardio is not the single contributing factor to building bigger muscles. A lot of it is diet and sleep. You can run for hours every single day but unless you start eating less you're wasting your effort. And you can try to work the same muscles every day, but you'll probably end up aggravating your ligaments and joints to the point where you can't extend your arms straight out anymore.

I lucky my body responds very well to any amount of exercise.. more so to light amount of exercise... (heavy works out don't benefit me at all..)

my hearts resting rate is 45bpm.
heavy work out i.e running as high as 220-230bpm.

What kind of workouts are you doing? 2 hours is a damn long time in the wait room!

You've actually measured your heart rate at 220 bpm? That is scary high, if that is accurate you should go get an exercise stress test done with a cardiologist to make sure you are safe exercising at that intensity.

With all due respect 45 minutes to an hour is more than enough.

That doesn't matter, the best athletes in the world don't get their heart rates up that high unless something is wrong.. I'll concede there's an extremely unlikely chance that that high of a hr is natural for you due to genetics but 99% of the time that would mean something is wrong. Better safe than sorry!

Yeah I should . I sure the machine was correct since I did the 5 second time x12 and it was close to what the machine said

yeah. I was interested in sports middle,High school but my parents would not let me.

I was interested in baseball mostly and soccer.

surely it could have panned out if it was nurtured and taken to the collage level etc...

sometimes people ask me if I played football in high school because of my build. lol
