    FYI:

Joel D. Wallach, M.S., D.V.M. is a veterinarian and naturopath who claims (in a widely distributed audio tape entitled "Dead Doctors Don't Lie") that all diseases are due to mineral deficiencies, that everyone who dies of natural causes dies because of mineral deficiencies,* and that just about anyone can live more than one hundred years if they take daily supplements of colloidal minerals harvested from pits in Utah.

WTF: they seem to find lots of dinosaur fossils in UTAH!

That's absolutely right MRB8. Most mineral supps come from the earth. That's the cheapest way to get them. That's what sets this mineral supplement apart from the rest. It is a natural food source. The minerals have been taken up by a plant. The plant changes the size and the bio electrical charge to make them more absorbable. They are just as absorbable as minerals in fresh vegetables you eat IF they are present in those vegetables and we know that some are for sure. I wouldn't begrudge anybody eating healthy foods. There is no doubt a healthy diet is important. I just don't believe that you can eat healthy enough to get everything you need. And as you just pointed out, you cannot get minerals from supplements that are efficiently absorbable. Save for this one supplement which has very small negatively charged minerals and trace minerals.

Just to clarify, I am not an expert on nutrition nor on biochemistry, all I wanted to say is that food is a better option, I (and I suppose most of us) can not or are not qualified to gauge the claims of this product's makers, and to be honest, I take anything like that with a grain of salt. In my humble opinion you are better off with food, supplements are prescribed to those who NEED them, and this need should be decided by a professional.

Pills have side effects, and they put more load on your body (ie kidneys), so unless there is a real need for them, stay clear.

        Good luck!

One thing I can speak about regardless of the science of minerals is what it does for me. I have been taking this stuff since 1995. Sometimes I go for a few weeks without it if I run out. After countless times of being without it for a period of time I know for a fact that it gives me sexual vitality and overall energy. I think it has helped in other areas but not real sure and I wouldn't make any claims. I wouldn't keep ordering it if I didn't see results from it. If it's a hoax and there is a better way to get minerals I want to know about it. That's why I sparked up the conversation on it. I just don't believe I can eat enough natural foods to get the nutrition I need. I know I miss it when I don't have it.

So I have been trying to research this. There are conflicting opinions for sure. One thing I have not been able to find is an independent analysis of the contents of mineral toddy. I'm not going to take what the sellers of the stuff say as gospel. How do I know that the minerals have been changed by a plant or its just leach rocks? This is a very important question. If it hasn't then there is nothing special about mineral toddy save for it has more minerals than any other supplement. Wallach is somewhat of a fraud but he is a naturalist and has a lot of good points. The money corrupted him. Can anyone come up with an independent analysis of mineral toddy? Some naysayers even say that it can be harmful. After 20 years of taking it I hope not.

CUSP, I can't answer that. I am looking for answers. Mostly I want to know the make up of these minerals. If they are derived from a plant source then I think they are special. If not I'm eating rocks that have been leached and suspended in liquid. A huge difference, I think. Help me find out whats in it.
