  • Decreased in Sperm Count

My wife and I have been trying to conceive for about a year now. We have tried IVF with no success. Recently, I had to give a semen sample to verify sperm count was sufficient. Results came back to be 64 mil which was pretty good. This was after taking a break from PE and work out Supplements.

Sample was given after 3 days of abstinence.

I started taking creatine, protein and pre-workout again. I have also been doing PE off an on as well as using my Bathmate. A few months into it, I gave another sample. The results were only 8mil.

Has anyone seen any of these activities affect their/your sperm count?

Have you been ejaculating more as a result of your PE and/or masturbation / edging than before you began PE? Have you tried supplements to increase your sperm/ejaculation volume? Are you in overall good health? Well hydrated throughout the day, everyday? Do you wear loose-fitting underwear or briefs? Sleep nude? All these and more can be factors in sperm production. You might find answers in your daily habits, diet & activities.

You said you started taking workout supplements again. Have you thoroughly gone through the list of ingredients in each to see if certain things may contribute to reducing sperm count? It's just a thought but it could definitely be a factor; your pre-workout supplement catches my attention first. Also, smoking, alcohol use, medication, stress, excessive heat, and even having your cell phone in your pocket excessively believe it or not can contribute. I mean really there is so many things people don't realize that affects their body negatives throughout the day; it's insane.
I'm sure your doctor can recommend you some natural vitamins and supplements that may help bring your sperm count back up.
Lastly, are you trying to conceive when she is ovulating?
      Is she under high stress?

I have been really strict with my ejaculations while trying to conceive. I try to "save up" for a better "product". I have not tried any supplements, but wouldn't mind any suggestions. I am active duty Military work out every chance I get. I would like to say I am in better shape than an average person. I do drink a lot of water everyday. It's kinda annoying how much I have to hit up the restroom everyday. As for tight fitting clothes, for the last 3 years, I have worn compression type underwear do to the amount of running I do. I sleep in the same underwear I wear everyday.

My wife blames my pre-workout and I am starting to think it might be the problem. I have not looked into it yet. I do not smoke, but I do drink. I don't drink in excess though.

We are really careful to "save up" and "deposit" mainly during her ovulation period.

IMHO The Creatine and Protein are not the problem.
Please excuse my French but these "Bull Shit" PRE WORKOUT drinks are CRAP. I have posted before that I had the Honor of speaking with 3 X Mr. Olympia and Only man ever to beat Arnold, Mr. Frank Zane. I asked him about said Pre Workout Drinks. He laughed and said . . . TeeRex all you would ever need is a double Espresso. Oh and peppermint gum for afterwards.

Also ditch the compresssion shorts for EVERYTHING except your workouts. HEAT is one of the number one causes of low sperm counts. ie. Hot Tubs, Sauna's etc. Also put the undies in the hamper prior to bed.

Thank you for the input. I have tried to veer away from compression underwear but my main issue is I have big thighs that rub against each other and chafes. Even when I walk around the house free balling, it would chafe. I have already cut the preworkout supps.

I too suffer from the BIG thigh syndrome. Try Baby Powder with Corn Starch. I apply it in my underwear in the a.m. and also right before bed. My favorite is Johnson's Baby Powder w/ Cornstarch
