Hey all,
Haven't been to the forum in a while. I actually got a case of Sclerosing lymphangitis of the penis. This is where the lymph vessel in your penis gets irritated/clogged from some traumatic event. Some guys get it from rough sex, others get it from masturbating too hard. In my case, it was the latter. I was masturbating after PE and I think my dick wasn't ready for it.
Anyway, this was many months ago now. Since that event, I stopped all PE and masturbation, which is what many protocols tell you do. I turned off all sexual thoughts, I immersed myself in my work etc. I tried the baby aspirin deal, tried rubbing all kinds of oils all over it, but it wouldn't go away completely. And I had this dull pain, which was annoying. Even now, I have what looks like a vein, but is really a distended lymph vessel protruding from right under the head of my penis. Luckily for me, it's relatively small, maybe a quarter-inch across. The thing is, some of the lymph vessels that are right next to it have also become slightly distended (not as much as the actual spot, but still noticeable, also under the head).
Now, I know what you're thinking. Tough break, whatever. True. If you study up on Sclerosing lymphangitis, there's actually no formal cure for it. It's something that many subject claim goes away on it's own. In my experience, however, it did NOT go away on it's own. The theory is if you stop irritating the penis by masturbating, sex, getting erections etc. then the penis has time to heal. The problem with this line of thinking is that it's IMPOSSIBLE to stop having erections. Even with this 'condition' I would get strong night-time erections. When I woke up, the spot on my dick was clearly irritated . . .more on this in a minute.
But I did recover, not thanks to these 'doctors.' My belief is that with the exception of surgery, there's no way to make your dick 'look' quite the same. Functionally, my dick is probably 100% recovered, but in terms of looks, it's kind of a battle scar, something to forever remind you of what went down at that particular day.
O.K., here's why I would not recommend someone to follow the protocols recommended by traditional doctors. By the way, I have no respect for most traditional doctors, so I'm a bit jaded (more of a natural health kind of guy), so be forewarned.
1) The lack of erections will cause your penis to atrophy somewhat. Seriously. Your penis health will be diminished. I'm a big believer in the idea that your penis needs to be worked out like any other muscle group or organ. Think about it. In our teens, we had pretty staying power etc. because we had frequent erections and masturbation sessions. I have a theory about this as well that I'd like to share down the road.
2) Lost gains. Can't quantify how much, but it did happen.
3) T levels significantly lower. Hey, when you stop thinking about sex, something changes biologically and I seriously believe you stop producing as much T. This means lower energy. I could feel the difference because when I did finally break the protocol and masturbated, I could feel my energy levels go much higher. I started masturbating again because I was tired of having wet dreams where I messed up my sheets in the middle of the night. I said, heck, my body is going to cum no matter what I do. I might as well enjoy it. In the past, there were religious reasons why I would try to abstain from masturbating, but now (God help me) I like the increased energy from it (as long as it's not excessive), zest for life, penile health, better sleep, relieving the congestion of the prostate (which causes pains, at least for me) and not messing up my sheets that comes along with it.
Here's what DID help me to get over my Sclerosing lymphangitis:
1) Taking the mental attitude of, "This damn thing isn't going to stop me from enjoying my life" and simply IGNORING IT. I swear, I just acted like it wasn't even there and that's when it started to subside. Realize, this is exactly the opposite of what doctors tell you to do. I actually increased the amount I masturbated with the thinking that I had to get my dick acclimated to having an erection even with this distended vessel in it. And I swear, slowly, it did. Now, I have normal erections, no pain, the vain still looks slightly distended, but doesn't hurt, so who cares? I bet over time, it'll start to go away even more.
2) Eating raw sunflower seeds. I'm telling you. There is some nutritional supplementation needed to get your dick back up to par. It wants B vitamins. I find that the most potent and bio-available come from natural sources, which is why I chose to eat raw sunflower seeds. Now, I would eat A LOT of raw sunflower seeds. I carried a bag around with me all day for a while, eating portions 4-5 times a day.
3) I even continued with some light PE. Hey, why not?
The crazy thing is, this would seem to go along with most accepted protocols for dealing with a muscle injury, for example. It seems counter-intuitive, but in order to heal from a muscle injury, one has to work out that muscle, strengthen it up, so that it can heal. Amazing, amazing stuff.
Well, I just want to say I'm back and I'm back on a program. I'm gonna' hit the JP90 and we'll go from there. I find the less is more mantra works for me in PE as well as in weight training, which I've been comparing more and more and finding many similarities.
Current stats are: 7 X 5
Goals: I'll take 'em.
