If you want to oversimplify things like that then dollar store pizza and authentic Italian pizza from Pizzaria is just meat, cheese, and spaghetti sauce, on bread. You see the similarities? The two are not the same no matter how much you simplify them.

Taco bell is not the same as authentic Mexican food. It's not even close.

Hell, I've even seen multitudes of people of central american descent eating AND enjoying taco bell. There's even several articles on the internet that debunk this whole Taco Bell not being decent mexican food theory.
Firstly, I never said that Taco Bell was bad, only that referring to it as Mexican food is an insult to the real McCoy.

And just because someone wrote an article trying to debunk an opinion doesn't mean I'm going to change my mind. I lived 30 minutes from the Mexican border, ate real Mexican food for over ten years, and Taco Bell tastes nothing like it.

Furthermore, just going off Taco Bell's own history, an American tried copying the recipe of a Mexican restaurant that apparently was a lot more successful than his hamburger and hot dog place, so is it really a surprise that many people (like myself) accuse Taco Bell of being nothing more than an imitation?

Taco Bell was founded by Glen Bell, who first opened a hot dog stand called Bell's Drive-In in San Bernardino, California[3] in 1946 when he was 23 years old. In 1950, he opened Bell's Hamburgers and Hot Dogs in San Bernardino's West Side barrio. According to Gustavo Arellano, author of Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America, Bell watched long lines of customers at a Mexican restaurant called the Mitla Cafe, located across the street, which attracted a dedicated customer base for its hard-shelled tacos.[4][5] Bell began eating there regularly, attempting to reverse-engineer the recipe, and eventually won the confidence of the proprietors such that they allowed him to see how the tacos and other foods were prepared.[4][5] In late 1951 or early 1952, he took what he had learned and opened a new stand, this time selling tacos under the name of Taco-Tia.[4][5]

Take it from a Texas man who has grown up on Mexican food, Tex-Mex, and authentic Mexican food in Mexico, Taco Bell is absolute shit. The meat is mostly soy filler and cellulose, the spices are bland, and the tortillas are terrible. I don't know why northerners love this shit but it is gross. Real Mexican food is greasy, usually cooked in pork lard, spicy as hell, and burns just as bad going out as it does coming in.

And Demolition Man is one of my favorite movies. "Enhance your calm John Spartan."
Back in 2011, Taco Bell was sued for falsely advertising that they used beef in their products but did not meet the USDA minimum requirements (the attorneys had the meat mixture tested and it was less than 35% beef). I also recall The Daily Show claiming that Taco Bell's meat had sand in it (though they later did a commercial for Taco Bell due to the fallout).

I don't live in Texas anymore, but I do miss barbacoa and tamales.

I miss Taco Bell's fat free menu when the food police were going after fat, LOL. They since moved on to soda. But I loved the almost fat free bean burrito with fake cheese and no fat sourcream.
A prayer, is kinda the same as a "Like". If there are enough likes, God will take notice. So "Like" away please. My daughter needs your prayers. Thank You.

Taco Bell has definitely improved since the USDA cracked down. They have a cantina menu with food item that very closely resemble the foods I purchase from central american food trucks, but have 25% less.

What makes food something Authentic? Does a cultural food item have to prepared by someone born from that culture to be considered real? Could I not make authentic mexican food in my own kitchen or would it automatically be considered fake because I'm a black man from southern louisiana?

You could go into something decent with a negative mindset and automatically label it bad. You could also go into something decent with a positive mindset and label it heavenly.

What if he suckered you in with chicken wings and jailhouse moonshine to render you fat and defenceless and then he declared his undying love? Suddenly those mod toilets ain't looking so bad.

I could share the exact recipe and method, but it just wouldn't be authentic seeing as you aren't black or from Louisiana.

Taco Bell is not Mexican food because it doesn't taste like Mexican food. It's not even a matter of whether or not Taco Bell tastes good, it's the fact that it tastes nothing like Mexican food.

I referenced Taco Bell's history (an American trying to copy someone else's recipe and repackaging it) to illustrate one of the many reasons why it's a very poor imitation, not because I think skin color precludes one from making authentic food from outside their own ethnic background.

Here around Chicago we got the chef who's on TV and has some criticaly a claimed authentic Mexican restituants namebRick Bayless. I guess he's the bomb, never eaten at one of his places. He kinda rubs me the wrong way. But I ain't payin 25 bucks for a jazzed up tamale when the cast $2.50 off a food truck made a guy who can't understand me. I'll go with the food truck everytime.

Sounds like he might be the brother of that dumbass, Chip Bayless who's queer for Tebow as a QB, and FINALLY got bounced off ESPN last year! LOL!

                                Question 6

Would you rather live alone for the rest of your life without ever having visitors or live with 7 people close to your age in a 1,800 sqft house for the rest of your life? You must spend at least 6 waking hours a day at home.
