The sun is not any more dangerous to look at during a eclipse that it is every other day right? I mean if there telling u to make sure u wear eye protection during the eclipse just because ur going to be looking directly at the sun than shouldn't they be telling you to wear eye protection every day you want to look at the sun ???? I'm pretty sure just looking directly at the sun ain't gonna F you up. I mean maybe like 1 out of 100 might experience problems but it's unlikely.. What sense does this make

No, it will fuck up your vision for life! And those glasses are not going to help you for more than a few minutes. Staring at the sun DIRECTLY will burn a hole in your retina creating a permanent blind spot. Staring at the sun with those glasses will only provide a small amount of protection which is not going to prevent you going blind if you stare directly into the sun for the duration of the eclipse, which is about 4 hours give or take.
Don't be a dambass and stare at the sun directly unless you're planning on being blind in one or both eyes.Sex is the great leveler, taste the great divider. - Pauline Kael

Wtf are you talking about?
Of course looking at the sun is bad for your eyes. You've only been told that EVERY DAY since you were 5, right?
I sincerely hope you go blind. (See, I didn't even have to call you anything and I'm still satisfied.)How did I get here?
Well I was looking for Pygmy.com (I gotta thing for small people, so what), and ended up here.
And I've been here ever since.

I look at the sun directly all the time. Tanerexict remember? Only gone blind in one eyes so what's the big deal?A prayer, is kinda the same as a "Like". If there are enough likes, God will take notice. So "Like" away please. My daughter needs your prayers. Thank You.

Looks like I was wrong about the eclipse glasses and the certified ones are safe, but I don't trust them. You're telling me a flimsy cardboard pair of glasses will allow me to stare directly into the sun for over four hours? I don't think so. I have feeling after this eclipse a lot of people are going to have partial or permanent eye damage.Sex is the great leveler, taste the great divider. - Pauline Kael

Looking directly at the sun, for more than just a quick glimpse, will start damage.

Yea ur right I've heard that since I was 5. But I've looked directly at the sun all the time and have never had any problems. If just looking at the sun will cause you to go blind they would have made a huge deal about it by now. Like advising everyone to wear preotective glasses anytime ur outside, or they would have made it almost illegal to be outside without protection in fear of one looking at the sun and going blind. I think ur overplaying this a bit. Yes u r right it is not wise to look directly at the sun but ur not going to fuck ur eyes up unless maybe ur staring for like 4 hours.Originally posted by Ravenously View PostWtf are you talking about?

They tell you not to go into the sun without eye protection. They say don't ever look directly at the sun. The eclipse makes it more dangerous because the sun is blocked so your eyes dilate and then the sun comes out again and lasers your eyes.ALL THE WAY WITH GOOD OLE JAY!

Just cause U guys have heard a few horror stories don't mean ur gonna go blind by lookin at the sun for a few seconds. They obviously are Gona make a big deal about it and give out warnings about not looking at the sun but that's just to get the point across it's not wise to do so. If it really had a high potential of permanent damage they would make a WAY bigger deal about it. How about this tommorow I'm Gona watch this eclipse with no glasses and I'll right another post on here tomm night if my eyes still work.
But was I right when I said this solar eclipse sun is no more dangerous than the normal sun?

Y'a , me too. Unfortunately the weather now mite not cooperate. That would be a long sad 7 hour drive home. And to top it off. Haven't got any PE work in, in two days, three tomorrow.A prayer, is kinda the same as a "Like". If there are enough likes, God will take notice. So "Like" away please. Hey Party maybe this post I just made over on my thread on the eclipse I started earlier this week, will lift your spirits! You're actually the Person I had in mind when I posted this, since you're ALL about the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE OF 2017...Originally posted by Party View PostY'a , me too. Unfortunately the weather now mite not cooperate. That would be a long sad 7 hour drive home. And to top it off. Haven't got any PE work in, in two days, three tomorrow.
After careful consideration, since I'm at home alone (GF's outta town visiting her mother
), I've come up with a REALLY twisted idea to share with those of you who have an "adventurous" GF/wife & happen to be in the "totality" zone for the solar eclipse! (PARTY, YOU ARE GONNA LOVE THIS!)
To make this "once in a lifetime event" truly memorable, I'll share what I'll term the "Celestial Trifecta"... I GUARANTEE YOU, YOUR MATE, AND YOUR NEIGHBORS WILL NEVER FORGET IT! SO BE SURE to have a photographer on hand to film your "performance"!
As the eclipse begins, you & your mate strip down naked and commence "HEAVY PETTING" to "get in the MOOD". About 15-20 minutes BEFORE "TOTALITY" (YOUR TIMING HERE MAY "VARY"), YOU & YOUR SO proceed to the front yard (or wherever you're most visible to your neighbors) & begin having sex ("Doggie" is the "preferred" position, MORE DETAILS on this later). MAKE SURE, YOUR backside GUYS, is toward where MOST of your neighbors are standing outside to watch the eclipse, so they can "embrace" the FULL EFFECT of your special presentation of "Celestial Trifecta"!
Now here's the tricky part...since "totality" only lasts a bit more than 2 minutes, YOUR MISSION (should you decide to accept it), is to achieve MUTUAL ORGASM with your mate DURING "TOTALITY"! (Not really a difficult "window" to achieve for guys as talented as members here, RIGHT?
So now you've ALMOST COMPLETED THE "TRIFECTA"...
1) There's a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE.
2) You've "ONE-UPPED" THE SUN, by providing "DOUBLE MOONS" for your neighbors viewing pleasure!
3) GUYS, (the Trifecta ALL ON YOU now); SPREAD YOU LEGS AS WIDE AS POSSIBLE, JUST AS YOU CLIMAX, then lean over your mates back ... AND YOUR NEIGHBORS WILL SEE URANUS!!!!
WHERE ELSE IN AMERICA WILL ANYONE TOP THE "CELESTIAL TRIFECTA"?
I GUARANTEE it will be a BUCKET LIST ITEM you'll celebrate with friends & family for YEARS to come!
NOTE: I understand THIS^^^is TOTALLY OFF-TOPIC for this thread theme, BUT GEEZ, one SILLY IDEA THREAD DESERVES ANOTHER, RIGHT?Last edited by jockinthebox; 08-20-2017, 11:03 PM.
