    What Would You Have Done?

    Hi Gymnasts,

    I hope each of you are well.

    I wanted your opinion on a situation to see if I did the right thing.

    I was in a partnership with a marketing project. He wanted me to do marketing work for him which I agreed to do.

    I draw up a program for him and suggested that he take a course of action to start.

    He stated that this is a different audience (mostly men) and they wouldn't be open to what I would offer.

    Now this individual did not even try to implement what I suggested. He automatically assumed that this course of action would not work without even doing the "test everything" mindset.

    I saw that this was going nowhere and decided to end the project.

    If you were in the same shoes as me, would you have done the same thing?

    P.S. He claims to be marketer himself and has an air that he knows everything.

        He has various products geared for men and women (physical fitness related) and when I shared with him an alternative view to his program (example, the possibility of breathing through the nose vs the mouth along with the author's video suggesting this view), he stated that the author doesn't even look like he lifts thus closing his mind to another view altogether based on how the author looked and not by how many people the author has helped with his techniques.

          In any collaborative business effort, there needs to be both synergy and an open-minded commitment to fairly evaluate ALL alternative opinions and solutions to the central theme of a project among contributors. You had neither...ending the partnership was your only alternative. You did the right thing.

            It might have been the way you pitched your idea. If he felt like you were telling him what to do then his actions are understandable.... Especially in a room full of peers.

                  He may have used you for your ideas, will use them, and you get squat. Sorry.
                  A prayer, is kinda the same as a "Like". If there are enough likes, God will take notice. So "Like" away please. My daughter needs your prayers. Thank You.

                      Thanks everyone...even if I wanted the information he provided (this was a barter agreement), I value myself and my time too much to deal with the drama.

                        Stick with your gut and your belief in what you are selling, be it an idea or concept. It unfotunately is up to the receiving party to be able to see your vision. I believe you are in the correct, strictly based on the ideas and direction you have demonstrated on this website. You are an innovator and a person that sees variations in simple patterns that others miss. Stay true to yourself and let this business set back fall as his loss instead of yours.
