Funny but I do believe the lifestyle was a bit different back then. Now we have time for sex and why? We have fast food.If I had to spend my whole waking days looking and running after animals for food by the time I got home you think I want to get laid? Not me; I want that bitch cavewoman to clean it and cook it because I got to go do the same thing tomorrow. Hell we'll never really know will we?
The world's still a toy if you just stay a boy!

I don't believe it's there for connection or love I don't believe in love anymore anyway, it's a load of bullshit. Life ain't a fairy tale.
I'm sorry for you in this regard. So much you are missing out on. Yes, there is a connection and Yes it is life altering. If you have never been there, then not much help commenting on what you have never experienced then is there? You are young, life has lots of experiences that you never had seen. Given time, you will view life differently.

Not really, I learned that you only get let down and destroy your life by loving or wanting love. I have been there, I've had sex with 11 girls and been madly in love with 4. Hence why I learned that it isn't worth it. I actually used to be one of these that believed in love at first sight I'm 28 I've had enough life experience, you make it sound like I'm 16 and only felt puppy love.

I spent the last 4 years of my life depressed cause all I cared about is finding the right person. Which is better? continue destroying my life and being depressed or moving on and forgetting about finding a connection with someone?

Move on and live your life for you.

Eventually love will find you, but you gotta stop looking for it.

Bro you have BPD, I'm sure that's a bigger reason for your problems. Emotional instability is a hallmark of the disorder so its damage is more palpable when it comes to strong emotions like love. I'm in the same boat as you, we both have been obsessed with a girl.

Zy, don't talk to me, you have no basis to talk about relationships being a virgin. Yes, your time will come and we will rejoice, just not now.

DJ, if you have given up on the female race this young, then I feel sorry for you. To give up life, god and the prospect of companionship at such young age is worrisome. Might be time for intervention if that is your take. Either way, not such positive commentary to provide others when you are in such a down spiral of your life. Lift yourself up, then lift others.

Everyone kept telling me that but I really don't believe it lol I think it's something people say to make someone who is lonely feel better but I couldn't see with my lifestyle meeting someone. I work, study, PE, gym. I couldn't see a girl just walking up and asking me out. Only social life I have is family days.

To be honest I'm mostly going up the spiral. Just got myself a job, got my uni work done, taking driving lessons soon and pushing myself forward despite the constant anxiety. I spent 3-4 years of my life moping around over a girl, I'm just making sure I don't put myself in that position again.

Also I don't know how long you have been married but if it's been a long time and you met her young then you don't understand how hard it can be. Also some people will never find the right person no matter what they do. Some of us just ain't that lucky.

Met my wife in 1987 without social media, without hook up apps and without anything other than my looks and sporty humor. You should try it some time, walk up to a girl and actually have a conversation - may be life changing. Or swipe left, swipe right and hope that you match with some wayward bitch that is good for a one night stand. Have fun. I won my girl legit, old school, in person.

                        Good luck with that app......

And that is why it's difficult for you to understand. It's a lot harder to socialize these days because people prefer spending their time on Facebook or like you say dating apps and even when you match with someone they don't reply. Try going out on my own? Chances are girls will be with all their friends and I would come off as a creep approaching a girl alone in a bar. I did all of that when I was younger just before Facebook took over and people was knocking on each others doors to hang out and I did get gfs relatively easy but now people are too busy or on social media and think it's okay to be friends on there instead of going out.

Things are far more difficult these days being in my late 20s busy with uni and starting a full time job soon. Dating apps are literally my only choice but yes they suck and I've met a lot of girls on them and none of them were the "right" one. Any other advice?

There is definitely something that has been lost with all the electronics in our lives. Real people relate differently than plastic people.

Says the man typing on his computer!

Exactly and mental health problems have also increased since social media came onto the scene. I seem to be one of the last ones that think social media isn't good for maintaining friendships. The rest of my generation are hooked on it now and will literally say we are friends but I just don't see it. If they were friends, they would know things that are going on in my life (I didn't post most of it to Facebook). I've deleted my Facebook now, don't want any part of it.

Yea, talk to a live human being, not an app, not a post, but an actual live human being. Might be refreshing, might be fun, might be different from the thousands of other guys doing the same thing on apps. Might stand out from the crowd or blend right in. Do what everyone else is doing, or carve your own niche and set yourself out from the crowd. Not in your shoes so can't say. If the current doesn't work, try something new.
