The reason ALM doesn't take a stand is because there is no ALM movement, therefore there will never be a stand.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

You've played too much into the "white vs black" view of this topic. As I stated previously, saying ALM or even feeling that ALM is a better slogan doesn't make you a racist. It does however take away from the talking points being made. Surely if your parents died you wouldn't let someone come into the funeral yelling "All people die! These people are not special!" The social issues of discrimination go much much deeper than white vs black. While that's a really crappy viewpoint that a lot of people who are uneducated about the issues have taken, those who have actually sat back and looked at the issues know better. You can bring statistics into the conversation all you want, as long as they are accurate and correct. It's very easy to omit certain information to make the numbers looking better for whatever case you want to make, and that's what the media does best. Pushing the most attention grabbing content possible. The statistics have proven time and time again that black and minority communities are over-policed. This includes minority police officers as well. The Freddie Grey case is a perfect example of that. Issues within the overall ideology of so many government institutions show that there are blatant acts of discrimination. Does this mean that every LEO, judge, CO, or public official feels this way? Absolutely not. There are a lot of good LEOs and people out there who work for the system in an attempt to not only help their communities but improve the overall quality of life. However, a big issue with that is that those same people cannot speak out against issues that they see taking place within their line of work. NYC has seen a large increase of arrests since stop and frisk was introduced. But it has been proven time and time again that it didn't actually help to prevent crime and instead was used as a tool to harass minority communities. More arrests for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, failure to obey law enforcement, etc. There wasn't a dramatic increase for weapon possession, or even picking up people with warrants for violent crimes.Originally posted by BigO View PostAll lives matter. That is not racist.
We could go down the path of breaking out statistics but then I would be racist. The word racist has been abused, it is used to take the ability to speak the truth away from people that aren't supporting the narrative.
Look into who is pushing the BLM movement, where the funding comes from. If you see it, you wont be able to un-see it.
if black lives mattered to those that support the movement, the focus would be on stopping violence against black people and that would put the emphasis on where black lives suffer the most.
I will let you in a little something something.....It isn't in predominantly white regions that they are in danger.
A real eye opener is to see where all the donations to support BLM ends up, it is not going to the people claiming victimhood status.
It's not about claiming victimhood. It's about being realistic and acknowledging the issues that are at hand here and finding a real way to deal with them instead of sweeping it under the rug. Regardless of who you think is pushing the BLM agenda, you should take the time to look into the actual issues that lead to this movement being started in the first place. Ignore the loud mouths, looters, and rioters. Take a look at the social issues that have been a reoccurring theme in this country for decades. Then ask yourself if you don't see a need for change. That's all that's needed to see where you truly stand.

These are people that share the one common feeling that all lives matter. This does not make them a group or a movement.Originally posted by bambamm89 View PostIf there is no movement, where do all of those people come from during the BLM protests and marches?
Unfortunately, the BLM movement has attracted a lot of looting and destruction. it is reasonable to assume that there will be people that naturally reply against LM statements with all lives matter.
There will always be two sides to every argument. BLM says they are treated unfairly, yet there are many special benefits to be had just by checking the box African American. Maybe some are just sick of the complaining and the wining. Affirmative action, "equal" opportunity hiring quotas and many other benefits have been given to the black community.
Is it fair that anyone gets college placement based on skin color. If there are 10 college spots opened for an incoming freshman class and the white kid has the 10th best GPA but aa kid of a different ethnicity gets the spot even though his GPA is 211th, is that fair? many would say not.
Should a person get a job because of hiring quotas just because of his skin color, many would say that isn't fair.
We hear about slavery and the damage done to blacks because of it, yet no one mentions the union soldiers that gave up their lives dying to free the slaves (although the war was largely fought for economic reasons)
To many it just sounds like take take take and no appreciation.
We hare how there are more police in their areas, well guess what, if there is more crime in an area, there will be more police there too.
Those that reply back with al lives matter are not in a movement, they may just be a collective group of people with different backgrounds that are sick of hearing about BLM.
BLM hasn't done a damn thing for the black community, and until they do, the will be met with many calls of "all lives matter"Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

Just for the record, I am not saying you are wrong or I am right. I am taking this as conversation, in a setting where we are having a friendly discussion enjoying a couple of beers.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

Just curious if you've done any research on the leadership of BLM and ANTIFA and who they are? Have you looked at their mission statements and what their goals are? They have openly admitted that they are MARXISTS! It's not about race at all, it's about destroying the United States.Originally posted by bambamm89 View PostIf there is no movement, where do all of those people come from during the BLM protests and marches?
Now do a little homework and see exactly who's been funding these anarchists... It's every organization that's been "virtue signaling", along with several billionaires like George Soros and the Hollyweird crowd who have no clue. Stupid people like Cardi B and Robert DeZero just to name a couple.-Foldus,

No doubt its a Marxist movement, hence my earlier comment about researching the Russian revolution. Bolshevism, Marxism then finally communism always funded and spearheaded by the same parasitesOriginally posted by Marlon LGHanger View PostJust curious if you've done any research on the leadership of BLM and ANTIFA and who they are? "these social injustices?" If you thought I meant to say that employers hiring whomever they choose and paying however much they choose is a social injustice, I wasn't very clear. I think that's a social good. And with regard to black men being beaten by cops, I meant that they're no more likely (per encounter) to be victims of police brutality than white men. "Social injustice" is a phrase that has become a dog whistle. You'll have to be more clear about what you mean when you say "take a stand against these social injustices".Originally posted by bambamm89 View PostAs it was stated earlier, there are different ways of looking at BLM. If you choose to only see it as a organization or a violent clashing movement (as so many media outlets have portrayed it as) that's the narrative that you'll take. You can say BLM or ALM, in the end the only thing that truly matters is your intent by saying it and what you're trying to stand for. That being said, too many people look at the BLM as an organization or some small organized group that has one mindset and one agenda.
Once again, there are a lot of different organizations, groups, and initiatives that are in place to not only dissuade black on black violence, but tackle many of the social issues that effect the black community as a whole. These groups are usually underfunded, under-appreciated, and often go unnoticed simply because they aren't capable of resolving problems on as large a scale as people want to see.
We are all in this together, that is 100% correct, but once again, why is it that All Lives Matter don't protest or take a stand against these social injustices? Whether you consider it an organization, a movement, or a simple slogan, there's no way to deny the fact that they've remained quiet during numerous times of social unrest and have yet to offer any form of solution to help alleviate the stress from the situations that are occurring.
Just saying the phrase "black lives matter" doesn't do or mean a thing. You say that black communities are over-policed but are you looking at the crime statistics. Blacks are a small minority of the US population yet account for a majority of the crime. So what do you mean by over-policed? The fundamental question is, why do they commit more crime? The war on drugs is a pretty obvious catalyst so why isn't BLM targeting that issue, rather than offering up red herrings for the media and ignorant public to chase? The devaluing of education and family structure is also to blame. Why don't the t-shirts say, "black families matter" and "educated blacks matter"? Rhetorical question, of course - we know the answer, don't we? Another source is historical zoning regulations which lead to underprivileged communities. Simply saying "black lives matter" and "defund the police" doesn't address those fundamental issue. And the absence of capitalism would only make many of them worse.
Those are the things you/we should be "taking a stand" against. And there are many who do, by the way. They're not throwing bricks through windows or toppling statues but are taking a stand with how they vote, how they choose local officials and policies, etc... There are many who believe the war on drugs has done tremendous damage, that education is something to be valued by the individual and the family and that people should have a choice in their education (and that making it free devalues it), and who believe that state intervention into the free market through govt regulations, and bad zoning laws are oppressive and exacerbate class division.
