I was digging through some of my stuff over the weekend and found my "old" "Quake II" game. LOL. Looked at the case for it and was surprised to see it said "1997" on it. Back in those days, there was usually no such thing as "Minimum system requirements"....few if any anyway. I have of course installed it. I found out online, that there are extensions, patches and such as well. I downloaded a graphics package that smooths out the graphics so they're not all pixelated like they were back then. Fun times.

I think it's funny to refer to something from the mid 90's as "old school" but I guess that was a good 15 plus years ago now.........how time flies.......and to think I remember WAY back in the day when I played games on my old Commodore 64 in the mid 80's....not only were the graphics awesome for the time period (when you compare them to the game "pong" that is) but the time it took to load some of those games..........I'd be waiting a good 30-45 minutes with some of them....lol....fun stuff! It's a tough job being good looking and hung :-)

Why no one mentioned Duke nukem? Good games hmmm. Plan escape torment, ice wind dale, fallout, dungeon keeper, age of empires and many more and something from my home land. Not old school but I have to advertise it, the witcher.Start(11.24.11) BPEL 6 7/8 EG 4 7/8

Loved every single game you mentioned. And yes, CD Projekt Red Studio is one of my favorite developers. They don't even encrypt their games for the benefit of gamers!Originally posted by arkham View PostWhy no one mentioned Duke nukem? Good games hmmm. It was made by fans only. BG on Dragon Age engine. The finished half of the game (full playable half), but the project ceased to exist. But somewhere I have read that there is something going with BG3. But might be a lie.Originally posted by ManWithPlan View PostYou know they are releasing a HD remake of BG series (including all the expansions).

do you have a link?
@ Kelthuzad: Dragon Age 1 was really good, very enjoyable tactical gameplay with a deep storyline and genuinely likable characters, and the mods added longevity...DA2 was an abomination though, turned into a fast paced hack n' slash for the consoletards, and Bioware removed the toolset
EA are killing Bioware...
@ Arkham: agreed, the witchier has a great story and gameplay, and the graphics engine for the sequel is truly breathtaking at times

Baldur's Gate
"Update: Beamdog reps tell us that the team at Overhaul is adding "new, original content" to the original game to make up the Enhanced Edition. "This is the Enhanced Edition, it's not a repackage. We have the original source code and are doing a significant update." He also confirms that no platforms have been announced just yet.
Update 2: A Beamdog rep also confirms that the company is self-publishing. Though he wouldn't go into detail regarding the new content, he says that "it's being lovingly crafted in the spirit of the original with the help of some of the original developers." Additionally, Cameron Tofer and Trent Oster have been working on the project ("planning and organizing") for "over a year now." We'll also hear more soon, as the team is planning "regular announcements every week with more details.""Last edited by ManWithPlan; 04-03-2012, 10:25 AM.AP90 member.

I remember that Baldurs gate mystery site popping up and reading all the theories on why it existed, never checked up on it though
Thanks!
