Opps; wrong math. I think I got messed up with the 3.4 billion that has been spent if you include the money spent on the state exchanges.

if I may add to this topic. It's hard to do right when so many things are privatized in this country. If they don't like what the government of the president is doing they can and most of the time rebel against it, just like workers in the old days when jobs were being cut and pay was being dropped, but these days people are more worried about feeding them self along with a family working 2-3 jobs. It's just a lot more easier for a big business to do so because they already have the business and it's not like anyone can go anywhere else to do so.

I'm going to comment on the First post of not enough doctors in the country. Schools for doctor's degree is also privatized as some may not know. They only allow so many to come through their schools to have a limit on how many doctors their are to keep the people paying more, where else could you go? I'm not saying all schools are like this but the higher in schools that have the connections and the know how to get you a great start in the career don't allow anyone to obtain that knowledge, you are having to pay for it, and only the wealthy can. I'm not a person who hate rich people if you truly worked hard to get where you are today and you do right and pay you're employes they money they deserve for help building your business then by all means keep doing what you do, because we all know a business can't get anywhere without workers it's impossible hands down. Back to the doctors, School cost way more then it should, and loans are so high that it takes years and years to pay back making it harder to have those people to become doctors, which creates a shorted and allows for high profit for doctors.

I personally am an aircraft technician and there is nothing that they do that truly sets their job at a higher level then mine, besides the beating heart and the blood eh, don't get me wrong they do work on humans and I work on an aircraft but that is what we went to school for correct? My job demands me to know every thing about every aircraft and to know how to use every tool. That's a bog job having to make sure the airplane works and allow people to fly on it and not crash. Last time I checked my pay was no where near a doctors, in fact I have more responsibilities the a doctor. If a plane goes down and it's my fault where it be small or not the FAA will document everything about the crash and come to me and ask questions depending on the situation I may go straight to jail, and have to pay a huge fine when doctors don't normally have to pay anything for a patient dieing, did I mention the pay isn't that big for my job. Back to the topic what is it that a doctor does that I can't, if I went to school for it and learned about it I would have the know how, we use the same tools just about with a few differences. My point is if everything wasn't so privatized and the government would act right and stop taking the bribes they are given then the country will thrive more then we can even imagine. That is what I look to in the future, that or a dark clouded world where robots are programed to kill any human who doesn't listen to the all might kings or the world, lets just hope the world becomes a better place by doing right and making sure others do to.

Well it's officially reform time at my office. I am getting the new insurance polices in and the results are devastating.

For most, deductibles and co-pays went sky high. Even those with good insurance are getting screwed. Plus insurance ususally pays 80%, but lately I've seen policies that now only pay 50% or 40%. Holy shit, you have to ask yourself ... why the hell are we paying for insurance at all? It's not like it helps anymore.

obama, sold it to us saying it will be fair and "healthcare" for all! In reality, he fucked it all up. There are now more Americans without insurance, especially the poor and low-income working class, and those with insurance have to pay more out of pocket for less service. He is the worst President in the History of the United States of America, in my experience and opinion.

I have no choice but to transform my practice into a cash practice and opt out of insurance all together. Many other doctors are doing the same. But since obama messed things up so bad that even those with insurance still have to pay out of pocket for healthcare, converting to a cash practice is easier than I thought it would be.

I feel sorry for the next President - who has to clean up obama's huge mess.

Well applying online was very easy. Prior to applying I called an agent to get a quote on a private policy like the one I had. The premium that regular people pay for such a policy was $1150 per month and has been in that range for about five years. I am very special (lol) and was very lucky to have the private policy I have had since the late 80's. Anyway then I applied on the line. The final result was just about $100 more than I am paying now with a $750 deductible. So overall the new policy which just about mirrors the one I currently have will cost about $162 more per month. Mind you I am choosing the Plantinum policy with all the bells and whistles.
This premium is still over $500 less than a private policy cost prior to the health care act and still that or more less than a private policy in todays market.

So overall I am satisfied with the coverage and cost.

At my age I dont want some 40-50% coverage plan because my shit is falling apart as the days tick on by lol So the Platinum covers 90% and that extra 10% is included in my annual deductible.

I didn't decide yet on a plan. I need to sit down and do the work myself (which sucks because I wish someone could do that for me lol)

                  Carry on

Wait a second, are you saying that you are paying over a $1000 a month for insurance that comes with a $750 deductible? And you are happy with that? I'm just making sure I'm hearing you correctly.

Oh sorry to hear about your health insurance denial letter. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Ever since obama's reform began more people now have less coverage, and more people seem to have no coverage than before too. All obamacare did was changed Healthcare into something universally more expensive and scary to the American people.

Holy shit. Better not get sick! But then again you are paying a grand a month so you better use it. You're in a pickle either way.

I have seen deductibles jump from $350 last year to $2000 this year. One lady's deductible went from $2000 to $6200. OMG! I have another patient that has a $55 co-pay for a $40 service. Huh? I'm telling y'all, it's getting difficult to justify why we pay for health insurance at all.

Maybe I'll just mention my experience here. My policy premium first tripled, then quadrupled, then the policy was phased out altogether.

An equivalent policy that conforms to the ACA provides me less benefits and has deductibles 20x as high. The premium is also five times what I was paying before.

I'll withhold my opinion on the entire subject, but I sure wasn't fond of those changes I had forced on me.
