What else can be done? They dont care if you kill them, its just dying for their religion. Id say just make an example of the ones we do catch. Make it well known it wont be quick. Based on how many lives taken that could be how many days or weeks of torture before we put em down.

I wouldnt think so, why show mercy if they dont? There isnt really anything else we could do since killing them is apparently brushed off. If they aren't scared to commit the crimes we need to make them scared. How else could we control them without them right in front of us?

For me itd be about stopping other people from being murdered by terrorists. If we have to torture terrorists to accomplish that, fine with me.

I agree about not wanting to do it myself, i wouldnt even be able to make myself unless i had proof and was 100% certain they were guilty.

Cut off the head of the snake. These terrorist groups are organised and as popol said some are young kids who don't have the same ideology, or not as extreme, but get sucked in. Finding the ones at the forefront and stopping them spreading and recruiting is the best way

Political correctness has gone too far anyway, you can't joke about anything anymore without somebody getting their knickers in a knot. People just need to quit being big babies, and quit overreacting. They don't like what I say, they can bomb me for all I care (seriously, if you kill someone over an insult, you have anger management issues, and I'll just laugh at you from beyond the grave); according to their twisted ideology, they'll be doing me a favor. Nihilists. In death, I shall become one with the planet, and then through my extraordinary force of will, cause the earth under the terrorist domain to cave in and swallow them! The rest of you are welcome, by the way.

On a serious note though, I take a utilitarian approach toward the whole thing. Killing a known murderer in order to save a number of innocent lives isn't going to bother my conscience one bit. Imo, everyone has the right to live, but by intentionally taking innocent lives, a terrorist forfeits their right to live. Of course, in a situation where we try to spare as many lives as possible by removing the killers, the world population will eventually grow to a point where we face overcrowding, or very tight competition for limited resources, causing a significant decline in overall quality of life worldwide. Which creates an interesting moral dilemma. Unless people can figure out soon enough that having 8 kids who each have 8 kids who each have 8 kids is eventually going to put someone else's 8 kids through a ton of suffering and into an early grave.
