Aussie currently has f18 hornet and super hornet aircraft that are same generation as the mig 29 guys onsite want to compare the f35 to . Of course the obvious compraison with the f 35 is the t50 next gen russian aircraft currently being combat tested in Syria . So a year or 2 ahead of the f35 development wise The Chinese next gen aircraft is still a year or 2 away .
In terms of last gen aircraft the su 27 would be a better comparison in any case .
I notice our near neighbours the indonesians have bout the updated version the su 35.
Opinion seems divided how the f 35 would go against it.
