  • Great Easter

Today I went for a walk along the beach . There were many people riding bikes swimming etc . The voices were so varied ,the ocker accents mingled with euro English and languages known and unknown to me .
A family from the middle east seemed to be commenting on the view. Japanese and Chinese taking family photos as they had bbq. Further along I saw a family group enguaged in the traditional aussie beach cricket complete with golden retriever . I smiled when I saw they were Indian .
On the way home I went to the middle eastern joint for a feed . I looked at the choices and saw lemon myrtle, yes the aussie bush food now so popular . As I ordered my lemon myrtle calamari kebab I noticed the star of david on the uniform of the person serving me .
I walked home thinking about all the division in the world . I saw none of it today.

Today on facebook I saw the other side .

A girl wrote how she was being bullied in her high school near the cowtown I grew up in . I remember well how in my youth people in this area would be bullied on racial /ethnic /cultural grounds . I remember how the admin of the high school I was in were part of the problem rather than the cure . Foolishly I had thought things had changed even in that backward area . Well I may well of been wrong if this 12y old crying out for help is to be believed .
