  • An Alternate to Authoritarianism

With the rise of the regressive left, despite many being on board with their brand of justice or lack thereof, many don't seem to be able to trust people to be decent human beings. Whilst we all have our moments, I'm pretty certain for the most part that we are a decent bunch in the west, but sometimes we can lose our way.

The reason for this post is the video I just watched and if you ignore all the crap where he tries to glorify the English, he makes a very good point once you get past the quote.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtZhyyfREQQ

What do you guys think? Is this method a better way to treat people instead of just directly telling them they are wrong because.....?

    Wouldn't play for me .

Actually I am worried about both the left and the right. The west seems to have lost it's way.

When civilizations ignore basic human moral values, and blur the lines of right & wrong under "progressive political correctness" it leads to an eventual collapse of not only individual human rights, but also freedom, liberty and civilized societies. History has shown this over and over, from biblical times to the rise & fall of the Roman empire (among others), the Civil War in the US, as well as World Wars I & II, in modern times. Unfortunately, "world commerce" and the rush to become "accommodating" to compromising core moral values in the process of striving to become recognized as a "major player" in "world commerce" has become THE major error of both the right & the left, today.

Without reflection on the mistakes of the past and a renewed focus on those ONCE core moral values, we are doomed to repeat this historical collapse, unfortunately. EVERYTHING is driven by FINANCE today, and moral values are the roadkill or "collateral damage" en route to Financial superiority, on the "world stage" IMO.

Ah damn, sorry Peg. I worry about both also.

I think the right's approach is far more obvious and direct and therefore easier to oppose if it feels wrong. The left seem to hide their intention behind seemingly well meaning ideas.

I have seen people from the left get lost in well meaning ideas inside their own heads . The intent is often not the problem but rather the lack of reality .
The intent of the right is more often a worry and the lack of reality is strong there also .

            Thanks Jock, good points!

This guy made another video I watched recently talking about the importance of individual rights, over the rights of "marginalized groups". He argues that if protecting the rights of the individual are upheld (the smallest unit in a society), then everyone's rights are protected. By pushing for group bias and preferential treatment, certain people are excluded and then become a lower class of human free to be abused under the law.

The definitions of "left" and "right" are an illusion. In the 60's, it was the "left" that was considered anti-establishment. Now the pendulum in the Grand Experiment has swung the other way.

Left used to signify a portion of the political spectrum where a top down and large system of government prevailed, while right in its most extreme form represented anarchy. That is obviously not the standard "neo" interpretation anymore.

and a few years later, my evaluation, is that the west has not lost its way. There is movement/resistance, and advancement might be slow. Lost ? I don't see that.

Which way is Syria, Turkey, or Lebanon going ?

The biggest problem of a country becoming wealthy is they become lost because there is no core person any more just a bunch of people free to do their own thing in the name of personally freedom. Everyone identifies with some social group. Takes a few generations but it always happens. I live by a few military bases and I'm surprised at how many first generation kids go into the US armed forces. Their parents came from crap places and some how made it to the US, they tend to be much more patriotic then families with longer histories in the US.

The Rome's really fell apart because there were no more Romans just Roman citizens.

I am neither left or right but I vote right. Reason is simple I'm the white devil according to the left.

I'm a white man who actually screws women.
My family history goes back on my mother side to a land grant from the King of England a couple of hundred years before the US was invented.
Father's side had to leave France during the French revolution. Moved to New York City.
Needless to say my family along the way fought Indians and owned slaves.

I have listen to the left's hate speech against my kind since I was in school, the left is so tolerant that they are intolerant to anything normal or anyone. I've had one wife and a few kids who are all normal so again I am the left's target for hostility over and over. They love their fatties, trannies and drug addicts. The left never does anything for these people they talk about it a lot.

The right side simply doesn't attack me constantly, figuratively. That's it that's why I vote right always.

I have no time for Sargon of Akkad. This is the same guy who doesn't understand that correlation does not equal causation, who thinks that the socioeconomic issues affecting black people in the US stems from the fact that less of them get married, because there is a correlation there, and not because of any of the other number of ways the black community has been oppressed (redlining, segregation, etc). Being a "classical liberal" does nothing to impress me, and is not an intellectually defensible position in my eyes. But hey, I'm a dirty socialist/marxist, so I don't expect you guys to care.
