  • hanging vs. extending

    Hi all,

I'm just kind of contemplating the next step here, after having finished the jp90 with not much to show for it, I'm contemplating hanging or extending. I did a search but couldn't find anything side by side on the subject...

At the moment, I'm leaning toward hanging, I could see the extender noose being a hassle and slipping out and not feeling comfortable. But the bibhanger seems like it would be a nice secure jacket I could wear and it just has an aesthetically pleasing quality to it... maybe an interesting piece of gear to wear.

But the extender would stretch more of the penis, and there wouldn't be those weights flopping around and more positions might be comfortable.

I'm just curious to hear reasons one might prefer one over the other...

    Thanks guys!

From what I understand, hanging is basically a more intense form of extending. With extending you have to leave it on for like 8 hours a day. With hanging it is like 1-1.5hrs (though some hang longer but I can't imagine it for myself). Hanging is more uncomfortable and can be a pain as well due to slippage and having to adjust the knob so it isn't so tight, etc.

None of it is easy...but what else can we do? I would go with hanging. I did go with hanging.
    Starting April 2010: NBPEL: 5.25-5.5
    BPEL: Approx. 6
    EG: 4.4

End of November 2010: NBPEL: 6.5
    BPEL: 7
    EG: 4.6

    Goal: NBPEL: 7
    EG: 5-5.5

New Routine: OTS hanging, bundled stretches in between, erect stretches, 100 jelqs at full erection level.

Interesting, I thought hanging would be more comfortable, and I thought it would slip less.

Kind of a plus for hanging that it's not quite as time intensive.

extenders can only put out a limited amount of force. this is perhaps the biggest limitation.

Thanks Blink. I'm leaning toward hanging because I think the extender noose will be too tricky.

Just gotta get some tiny weights somewhere...

Yeah, I am looking to get a bib hanger soon. Blink has me enthused now, with all his GREAT articles that are scheduled to come out next week!

I think really that they are similar BUT 2 separate things.

Hanging= more potential weight/stress on penis, whereas extending offers the ability to more easily do other things while wearing it, and once you get good at the extender, you can wear it for a long time.

Needless to say, I think that using both would be best!!!

personaly i think i would go with extending in which i am going to only because you can use the extender even when your just at work etc. heres the best extender out on the market and ive talk personally with someone who has been through every extender on the market and said this one you cant go wrong with here you go buddy. yes, the biggest limitation with hanging is you have to mostly sit prone, although some guys walk around while hanging, its probably not a safe thing.

you can definitely move around more easily with an extender.

I used the extender until I maxed it out, gained an inch, then went to hanging which I see as a more intensive form of PE. Personally, I think using the extender prepared me for hanging. Hanging is definitely more restrictive, and you will have to carve out some privacy for 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day, or have a very open relationship with your partner, spouse, etc. My recommended progression is manual => extender => hanging.

in my opinion you can go straight from manual to hanging

I got a bib hanger in today and started hanging and honestly love the thang because I tried the homemade hanger before and it hurt like hell to even try and get it on.. I got the starter model and im very pleased with it I just wish I would have got it sooner then I did. lol

But hanging with light weights is as good as extender right? When you start out hanging it is just 1-2 lbs for an hour or so. I think the extender can exert more force than that.

I'm curious how much the "average" weight people stop at for hanging... I heard of crazy numbers but I'm more concerned about the majority, something like a median.

Perhaps not a number to "stop at", but a number that is comfortable yet challenging enough to last for a looooong period of time?

I tried an extender and didn't like it so i vote for hanging. If extenders are comfortable compared to hangers then damn ! im not so sure because i didn't find my extender comfortable at all.

Looks like the winds are blowing toward hanging. It has a bit of an ancient, kind of aesthetic appeal as well -- I think Africans somewhere have been hanging for generations, read about it once...

Real quick before I throw down plastic, any ideas for acquiring the weights? I know one might start with fishing weights, but then they work up to those big discs that are used on dumbbells as I understand it...
Can one just get 1 lb., 2 lb., 3lb., etc. weights that are suitable to be tied to the hanger somewhere?
