  • Wtf edging seems to be bad thing...?

    I was reading something about the effect of watching porn without masturbating and it lead me to this site/article:

    They say edging is really bad for your brain and they list several reasons:
    1. Your brain gets used to your hand instead of a sexual partner
    2. Chemichals in your brain are kept high for long periods of time
    3. When stop start, sperm goes back and causes problems like crystalization

    There are more reasons listed. Howcome this is not discussed on pegym? Maybe it's only good for guys who edge in combination with real intercourse? I thought edging was going to fix my EQ, so now I guess I should only be doing kegels..

    watching too much porn will trigger a dopamine surge for every "potential" partner you see on video.
    You will suffer from desensitization, a normal nude woman wont trigger much of a sexual response anymore, thats why all people start with a photo of a half naked woman and then need to watch hardcore gangbang porn after several years to get the same sexual response. It downregulates dopamine receptors (mostly D1 and D2) the same way abusing stimulants like cocaine/amphetamine does in the long term. It needs to be handled like an addicition because it is one

      Despite believing the above is true, that's not what he asked. I can only comment on part 1 and say that it's always best to graduate to the most realistic sensations. I don't know if it's "bad for the brain" but there is sense in evolving to a tighter lubed grip, a synthetic vagina, etc.

      I don't last a full 20 mins with my fleshlight so I often edge by hand and can only testify personally that it's helped in the bedroom, not hindered. I don't use stop/start by the way.

          The two best solutions to this:

          1) Don't use porn to edge as it can cause a negative conditioning effect (see: The Detraining Effect: Understanding and Reversing Negative Habits To Improve Erection Quality and Sexual Confidence)

          2) Ejaculate after each session

          It helps greatly if you reserve your ejaculations for sexual activity and training only.

            Ejaculating 3X / week is recommended for male sexual health (preferably through sex). Clearing the prostate and testicles of older less-viable sperm is healthy. Edging for stamina (NO PORN), with lube (to simulate vaginal intercourse) while using your imagination & NO DEATH GRIP, is recommended. Ejaculate (or NOT) at the end of the session 3X/week if you're not having regular intercourse, is the 2ND best healthy alternative.

              I'm going to balloon and edge without the death grip. I was already conpletely done with using porn for PE since a month ago. I don't even think about porn during edging. I try to get hard just by ballooning and massaging and if that takes too long I visualize real situations from the past/future with real people and me in it.

              Big Al, when you say ejaculate after each edging session does that mean with stop start a couple of times before the ejac?

                You'd stop prior to the PONR 3 times before finally ejaculating for the average Stop and Start session.

                  Is there an issue if you reach PONR more than 3 times during stops and starts, say 7-8 times? What's the problem with not ejaculating after edging?

                    So far as I or other members of the mmo club can tell it's like this . You can edge for an hour or more with or without a partner , multi times a day for decades having dozens of non ejaculation orgasm per session with no ill effect.

                    The non ejaculation thing is less clear and I certainly do not recommend prolonged non ejaculation, if you are edging or not . When I was younger I ejaculated daily but even then not every session as I have grown olde I go more sessions without ejaculation as it keeps my libido up , still ejaculating regularly though .

                      I personally PE &:Edge (30-45) minutes Mon-Fri. Without ejaculation & my nuts don't explode. I save the 2-3x release for the weekend unless I get lucky and get some middle of the week SEX !!!!!

                        If you suffer from premature ejaculation you can perform the Extreme Stop and Start. You just need to be careful to not overcondition yourself- as you may find it difficult to ejaculate [more or less] in command during a sexual encounter. This also applies to not ejaculating after the S&S.

                        Vasocongestion would be another reason for not ejaculating at the conclusion.
