You have many unanswered questions leaving out other variables such as age, location, height, weight, skin color, gay/straight/bi, income, sexual desire, profession, ect. Just to test those two for a correlation will end in a inconclusive result set.

I get your point about there being loads of other factors but do you see what I mean when you have to ignore those in order to test the hypothesis? They're the things people could discuss in the thread but as far as a poll goes, it's best to keep it as simple as possible. Not least because you only get 10 options (on this forum, anyway).

Ideally you'd be able to ask guys anonymously exactly how big they are (or started out as) and how many partners they'd had, but you can't do that with a simple forum poll. I say 'partners', rather than 'women' - is it plausible that cock size has more effect on number of partners for gay guys than straight guys, do you think? Any gay/bi members here got an opinion on that?

As an admitted virgin, not the most valid one. But, I do have one. It matters more to a bottom than it does a top. All factors aside, more dick means more to me than less dick.

How in the hell does size play a roll in how many partners a guy has? It is not like women have xray vision when you walk up to them or they walk up to you. I would say all but maybe 2 of my partners came from a cold approach. 2 might have come from social circles. So how does size play a role at all?

As Everman says, it's to do with confidence. I'm certainly not saying it's the same for everyone, I mean I wasn't very confident around girls as a teenager, didn't get laid until my first year at university and still haven't had very many partners - and my dick was about 8" long before I started PE. So personally I don't even fit my own hypothesis! I'm just saying that on average, I wouldn't be surprised if there is *some* correlation between confidence and dick size.

The other factor is that these days, internet 'dating' (not necessarily dating as such, just casual hook-ups) is very popular and there are sites that are oriented wholly towards sex, so a guy might use photos or a video of himself to advertise his size up front. I've never done this myself but there are guys on this forum who are into that scene. And there are others who are into swinging, 'wife-swapping' and so on, so that if you're in a social group where pretty much everyone has fucked everyone else, word is likely to get around if a guy is very well hung. Not everyone goes for huge cocks of course, but there will be enough size queens (female or male, depending on orientation) that it could well help a guy's chances in that scene. Probably not going to do his chances any harm at least, put it that way.

Though I see your point that unless you're actually at the beach or in nudist colony or whatever, women aren't going to be able to tell just by looking at you how big your dick is. And as we all know, even flaccid size is not that good an indicator of erect size.

I do get some of your points. I would say 68 of my partners were before the internet. My current size queen GF knew I was average long before we had sex. Matter of fact she joked the night she asked me out "the next guy that tells me he's average I am heading for the hills" I told her I was average on our first date she didn't head for the hills.

They took several scientific studies and averaged their results. According to this article, their were a total of 8,456 men surveyed

Average Girth: 4.79 inches with standard deviation of 0.53 in. This means 68% of men were between 4.26-5.32 inches.
Average BPEL: 5.81 inches with standard deviation of 0.78 in. This means 68% of men were between 5.03-6.59 inches.

Note: I'm using the scientific averages, it doesn't state which surveys were done with this method but says this method used medical staff educated in proper measurement techniques.

Actually the deviation is wrong because there a fewer men (very low percentile) who have a girth of 4.29. Many fall between 4.7 - 5.3 in girth like many fall within 5.7 - 6.2 in length. So the deviation float per inch should be something like (m=midpoint) +- (.5 / 2).

are you kiding me ? when iam errect i have an average length dick (16cm) but a circumference of 16 - 16.5 mm (cca. 6.3-6.5 inch) in the middle of the penis... thats like 0.5% of population according to Mr. Average - The true story about penis size, from a site that isn't trying to sell you anything. and "out of the table" on condom size and facts (somewhere close to 0.12% of population)... now it makes sense that putting on condom always felt like strangling my dick, and when i finally put it on it felt like "grip of death"... unfortunatelly local drugstores in my country only carry DUREX brand and some obscure local brands and none of them have "LARGE SIZE" options... what a problem to have
