Yeah, whenever I go to the gym, I shower naked... A shower is meant that way.

I agree with one of the poster's above saying that society is too conservative with nudity and such. Breeding insecurity.

So today at my Gym I just saw the most ridiculous fucking thing ever!!

I strip down and get into the shower, as soon as I turn on the water I was followed in by a 20 something in his swim trunks. I was thinking, ok; he's probably going to the pool as that is typically what I see when someone comes into the communal showers wearing swim wear. Then out of the corner of my eye and hearing a "pop" sound I see the guy putting shampoo in his hand and he then proceeds to wash his hair. Fine, I think to myself; maybe he has product in his hair or something and was just being thoughtful of the pool.

NOPE, he then gets out some body wash and starts washing himself. At this time I'm so confused but just tried to tune it out and kept washing myself. And then I see some awkward movements and the guy takes off his swim trunks and underneath the fucker is wearing boxers!!! So now this guy is in the communal shower wearing his damn boxers just 2 shower heads down from me.

Here's the thing, I don't give a fuck if he's going to be so damn shy; but considering our showers offer 2 stalls with curtains and he's not even properly washing himself he should have just used one of them. This was awkward for me, as I was completely nude and this kid decided he would remain clothed at the waist when proper accommodations were provided for him to shower in complete privacy!

Obviously his problem with nudity had nothing to do with seeing someone else nude but instead was with him being seen nude. That's the thing I'm getting worried about our society, he'd rather bathe himself improperly than be seen naked. Even going as far as probably too afraid to strip completely down that he had to put his swim trunks on over his boxers!

I was "this" close to calling the guy a "pussy" as I walked by, but refrained out of common courtesy.

It's just common courtesy and proper hygiene to scrub down your entire body WITH SOAP before you enter a community pool. I saw the same thing today--it pissed me off. This idiot changes into his swimming trunks and then enters the pool without showering. It's rude!!! You take a hot soapy shower BEFORE you enter the pool and AFTER, if you have any sense. Who gives a shit whether people see him naked or not.

now-a-days, after either after workout or racket-ball at the gym, I shower totally nude, and since everyone I run into already knows that I am a 'totally-shaven' dude, I shave myself from underarms to knees while I am showering. rarely does anyone ever give me the 'freak-eye.'

I suppose I got so uninhibited about my nudity from way back when, during my college and navy days. in college, I pretty much always had a cool gal, so I was pretty immodest about letting the dudes in the dorm see that I was a 'pencil-dicked' dude. during my navy hitch, everybody hit the head totally nude. didn't matter if they were brushing their teeth at the sink or in the gang shower.

For me, whether I shower naked or not is about whether its accepted or not or normal or not at that particular place. In other words, when at the public occasion it is 'normal' that you wear clothes, I wear clothes. If its accepted to shower nude, I shower nude.

I work at a (public) wellness spa, so for my work I have to be naked a lot. I always shower nude at work (of course) and walk around naked as well. I love my job for being nude whenever I want/need to.

I ALWAYS do "my laundry" in public showers; I ALWAYS strip nude at a laundromat to do my laundry, too! This is a dumb POLL! Shower NUDE, but keep your togs on at the laundromat, DUDES! What's wrong with guys these days?

In my opinion... I think every public shower should be a place where you are naked. You don't shower with clothes on at home either.... I actually even think being nude should be normal everywhere :P

There's something very liberating about showering naked with others -- especially if you have some hesitation to do so. It's kind of like jumping into the deep end.
