How many Women/Men have you slept with?

There was another poll website where women voted on the number of partners they slept with; it is similar to the results here, but on that site the bi-modality of the graph is clearer. Here we have more people sleeping with 5-10 than 11-15.

Based on this we can speculate that for the group of people whom the sample represents, most people are either very monogamous or very polygamous. Based on this evidence, it is difficult to say whether humans are naturally monogamous or polygamous. Combined with the notion of genetic survival however, it does seem as if humans are naturally polygamous. We could further strengthen this by saying that cultural and religious forces have shaped the sexual relationship styles of human beings, hence why there are many people who are monogamous.

There are a methodogical issue though; the poll does not control for age. One would think that the probability of having more partners increases as one ages. Perhaps a better way to gain complete information on the polygamy/monogamy issue is to derive a sample of 18-60 year olds, and stratify it.

Im 26 years old and would say in the 75ish range. On other hand, a recent woman decided to bring up the subject on her own and admitted to 45 men within a 2 year range and I got up and walked out. No #76 for me!

As an older member of the gym, I'd say that younger guys are more likely to have more partners because the social mores have changed. When I was young, girls didn't "put out" unless they were "loose." Getting into a girls knickers was a long process, not a one night stand.

Funny story actually... I always thought my first time would be horrible and that girl would bail on me and I would then sink my cock into anything that moves... thus would begin my slow descent into male-slut lifestyle. I was actually kind of looking forward to being a slut and learning more about myself sexually.

Turns out, the girl I lost my v-card to, wanted me to stick around. A year and a half later, we are living together, fully committed, and we are both well aware we want to marry, but aren't going to tie that not until we are farther down our career paths. 75 is alot, though really not something I admire and there may be a little bit of a double standard. However at 26, say he was having sex since 18. Now take her 45 over the last 2 years, insert his age and the 18 year old age to start. She would have 180 men in that time frame. I would of walked away to...
