My hips tend to get very tight too from all that sitting. What has helped me are mini standing stretches at work, as in take a fat step forward, and engage your hammies while posterior rotating the hips. It's a good stretch that you can perform in a work environment. Back home i do this stretch.... (google image)

Painful as hell but by far the best hip stretch there is.
