I was doing P90X until I dropped a dumbbell on my toes and broke 4 of them. I love it but it floors your ass each and every day. I actually considered crying after the Yoga workout one day because I was in such a state of complete breakdown. If you eat enough calories and a shit load of protein, I think P90X is better than just about any gym workout you can do. If you're trying to gain weight, just cut out the cardio workouts, like Plyo and Yoga. I do the Yoga for the flexibility that I need in golf. I can't do anything now for about 4 weeks though
...
1,000 calories pre-workout is intense. I know when I first started lifting, I was downing ON Serious Mass (a full serving) right before workout. I also added 3 cups of milk, 2 tblspns of peanut butter, and a banana to it. My pre-workout shake was 2000 calories deep and had 82 grams of protein. That was a bit excessive. But I gained 5 pounds that week
... I don't think the body can convert that much protein at once though.
Make sure you are hitting some hardcore complex carbs after your workout. The replenish your energy stores so your muscles can be fed for growth and recovery.
We should start a joint fitness progress log. I have hijacked your PE log...
