Just like in real life if you have feelings for someone you need to make a move, you have to make a move and meet if you met them online. I met other people on the dating site and it didn't work out and others that kept dragging it out and those I pushed to the side. I spoke to them but I pushed to meet and they kept dragging it out. Wasn't going to waste time with that.
I should have elaborated a little more in my post. However, I'm glad that you were able to see what I was getting at.
You are absolutely correct. If there is an actual intention of meeting the person and it's not a long distance relationship, then the relationship can work. However, nowadays, people think having an online relationship and not meeting is a real relationship. They talk for months and start saying I love you to each other. Then when they find out the person is not who they thought, they are crushed.

I am glad that your story has a happy ending.
I will never apologize for being me. People should apologize for asking me to be anything else.

Apparently that is more common that I thought. I thought that was a Manti Te'o thing. Way back when AOL first came out, I used their chat rooms to meet girls. I thought it ws a cool thing to do in the middle of the week when their isn't much nightlife going on, but if I liked the conversations I waned to meet. Some didn't and they were just internet chat buddies nothing more. For it to be more we had to meet and actually do the normal dating stuff. Dinner, movie, sex, etc.

If you want to get to know her more being able to speak to her with your own voice is best, the best example would be the phone, unless you can't afford talking over countries if that happens to be the case. If you can't use the phone then another option for you is webcams and VOIP services of various websites.

But with the internet you can do everything you listed, except for touching. You can see with webcams and at the same time just have coffee.
Such an impersonal world now a days.We can go exploring the world without ever leaving
        our house.

Probably one day you will have people getting married online.I guess it would be difficult to have kids.Hey but there always cyber sex, right!

I guess I grew up when you had to go out to meet people.Oh yes you had that thing called the telephone, just wasn't the same as seeing someone up close and looking them in the eyes.

You can't smell the scent of someone perfume on a web cam.I guess they are working on
        Smellavision.

It is no harder to have feelings for someone over the internet than someone you barely know face to face.

Meeting someone online is not the best place to meet someone for a real relationship. When a person is online, they can say what they want you to believe, so you have no idea if they are telling the truth or not. I can tell you right now that I own my own business and have multiple vacation houses. But that doesn't mean it's true. However, you can only go by my word if it's true or not.
It isn't only those people you meet on the internet that tell you what you want to hear. Someone could just as easily be lying about themselves when you are face to face with them. Any girl/guy that you think has the potential for a relationship could be lying about everything from their blood type to their weight. Now you could say you could tell by how they act, but lying is an incredibly easy thing to do and if you have just met this person then you have no basis on how they act when they are telling the truth or not. They could be lying to you right off the bat.

The best place to find a woman for a relationship is to go where you like to go and do things. If you like hiking, then look while you are on the trail, if you like sporting events, look there. If you go and do things you like to do and you find a girl there that you like, you can almost bet that she likes it as well. It's better to actually see and touch the person that you are meeting. You can usually tell if they are genuine by your feelings and their reactions to things.
Unless the things you are into have a very small percentage of women partaking in it.

Someone in my family has done the online dating thing a few times and she doesn't learn after they ask her for money or to open bank accounts up for them. She is so desperate not to be alone that she doesn't see all of the huge red flags in front of her.
That problem isn't solely based on the internet though. As we all know there are plenty of relationships where the problem you described has happened. It has nothing to do with the internet and more about that family member of yours having bad luck with people.

You don't want to get caught up in a relationship and find out it was all a lie.
This happens a lot in relationships, face to face and internet relationships alike.

Well all in all, just to post everything i've thought and read about on here.

I'm just a paranoid obsessive idiot..
Had a recent discussion with her and most of the part she says that i make to much paranoiac references and have no self-esteem which is true, all of this is because i care too much for her and don't know how much she does for me.
I'm too afraid that i'm disturbing her at any moment when we text and that she's using arguments to make me push her away. Pretty much she gave me the same explanation that all of you are trying to tell me "You want to hear what you want to hear" and lately she only says that she likes me with less smiley faces and nothing more. But as she said, she's still there probably thinking that i'm a waste of her time and not worth it. I would want to fix everything because i do care.
And if anything could go wrong, it's because no girl wants a guy who's paranoid and obsessive.
I would really like her to tell me what she thinks of me without fireing up a bad discussion.

..I almost feel like i should cry damnit.
