    Here is a golden advice:

Dont take any protein supplement. Just make sure you get enough protein in your food. Eat healthy and eat quality food. Protein supplement is pretty much useless if your diet is alright.
IF your diet is NOT alright and therefore you need protein supplement, maybe you should think about your attitude to diet and change it so its better.
Really, its just todays boom supplements supplements supplements....lot of people take them just because their friends do, and they take it because they saw someone else take it, and those dont even know why they are taking it, maybe because they saw it in a video about bodybuilder.

IF you dont want to be a professional athlete when you have to consume really big amounts of protein, then you dont need protein supplement.

The only time when you need protein supplement even in your situation, is when you have to eat and you dont have posssibility to eat natural food. For example during traveling in bus/plane/ship or whatever and you dont have food with you, and neither the staff has good protein food, then you can consume protein supplement as SUBSTITUDE!

You know, at the end of the day, its just that - a supplement. Its not a miracle which will make you muscular over night. I know a lot of people who take protein supplement and it doesnt effect them, because their diet sucks OR their diet is good enough.

But it's really expensive unless you make your own. It is a great pure-protein source though and the best thing available at the gas station.

Vegan diet: my comment was my opinion. Vegan nutrition is simply not complete. There are many vitamins, minerals, and yes, even proteins that you cannot get from a strict plant-based diet.
To form an adequate intake, you'd need lots of supplements. I'm personally of the opinion that a supplement should be something that supplements the main diet, and not be a staple in it. In the vegan diet, something like B12 supplementation would need to be a staple.
Can it be done? Sure. I think the human body is very adaptable and there are some people who, for whatever reason, respond very well to a long-term vegan diet.

There's a stereotype of vegans being sickly for a reason. Many people who go that route will experience some degenerative symptoms as a results because the diet is incomplete. There's stuff out there that suggests supplements don't behave like the real thing. Who knows.
I think going vegan is a great thing to do for maybe 3-12 months at a time, done in cycles with other diets. I don't think it's something you can do for 10-80 years without experiencing more illness than you otherwise would have.

I know that that comment was your opinion Toad and nobody needs to concern themselves with me getting upset again. B 12 is an issue but easily remedied by incorporating nutritional yeast in recipes like nut cheeses or smoothies. While protien is more abundant in meat there is plenty in plants and when combined correctly they are complete or complete in themselves like quinoa or hemp. Are Hemp or nutritional yeast supplements? Some might say so. They do come in cans with scoops. I havent gotten to the bottom of the D3 "problem" yet but i havent dug very hard either. Anyway to each their own :-D

I do use Protein supplements that are incorporated in MRP Shakes or Powders.

One reason is a combination of both my workout schedule and travel schedules.
HIIT Training 2 -3 days a week along with 3 days of weight training and Inline Skating lessons (I'm an IISA Instructor) on weekends.

Plus my work territory is HUGE. Hotel Gyms and 24 Hour Fitness is always nearby. Thankful for the internet to locate their locations.

MRP’s are more of a complete nutrition package and do have Protein as an ingredient.

I eat Extremely Well and 3 balanced meals a day. Plus I snack smartly but will always error on the side of caution in making sure my body gets enough Nutrition for the amount of stress and exercise I put my body through. So MRPs always travel in my Luggage and Car.

For me they DO Make a Difference. Hence the reason I’m considered obese.

                5’8 180 at 8 - 9% BF (Hydro Static tested).
Ahh got to love the Government and there BMI index.

Gold Standard Whey, MuscleMeds Carnivore Mass, AMP XXX...take you pic. Your body can only digest 25g of protein per hour max. AMP XXX was GREAT for me. I started taking it and put on weight from 135 to 145 easy. After that I was hitting the gym everyday because I got addicted. My trainer was 5' 11" @ 190 and I was 5' 6" @ 145. When we started Arnold Super-sets I was benching almost as much as he was. After a few months I was able to gain so much muscle putting me at 158 and by that time we were doing the Hugh Jackman workout. Long story short, I got into depression after a bad break up and lost it all..haven't been back to the gym since but I try to help people when I can because I've been there. Keep things mixed up in the gym as much as possible, even if it feels awkward. Don't forget, good things take time!

GET BACK INTO IT! Hit the gym again and don't look back.

I went through a messy Divorce and lived at the gym. The best thing that ever happened to me. Put on 30+ pounds of muscle, made some great friends and met my future wife.

Still at it 22 years later and have never looked back!

Also a very high source of sodium.

Food is your bodies medicine. When you put crap in your body, your body will perform like crap. Food > Protein shakes.

Now, I am in the bulking stage and want to gain a solid 10lbs over my summer weight and use protein shakes as well but wouldn't recommend for people just starting out since a simple diet change can do a world of a difference.
