  • Another (sort of) comparable situation that happened in the UK with recent events in the US was the shooting of Mark Duggan by the Met police in 2011 that sparked the nationwide 2011 riots.

I have no doubt in my mind that if many of those rioters had easy access to firearms it would have been a bloodbath.

    • I find it very interesting and troubling that a country that doesn't have the whole slavery culture thing has similar cultural melding issues. One could draw very troubling ideas from that trend. On both sides of the coin.

      • Can anyone tell me a country that didn't have slaves?

By the way the area today that has the highest slave population is the African continent.

        • the price of relativism is being paid..........

objective truth has become the redheaded stepchild of an increasingly relativistic society

          • Whites and blacks are victims of the political strategies used to divide us.
If both groups would stop blaming each other and work together to rid each other of the perceived problems we would not have race issues. This goes for all races

As far as slavery goes, sorry but that was not us. It was our great great grand fathers. I did not beat anyone or force them to work so I, nor anyone else owes them shit other than the same human decency we all deserve.

My great aunts, uncles and great great grandparents on my mothers side either died in or survived concentration camps but we don"t look for what is owed or deserved because of that. Slavery was started by man from the earliest of days and just about every ethnicity has suffered enslavement at one point in history.

I mean I personally am very unfamiliar with any slavery out side of ancient slavery I.E. Rome, greece, ect. And slavery in the USA. Just a topic I've never been taught nor cared enough to learn on my own. But a quick Google just told me the brite on dumped slavery 30 years before us and still allowed it in East India controlled territory.

                • We are constantly being reminded of what happened 150 years ago. There are those who want that mentality to be continued not for the sake of the people but for the sake of themselves. Civil rights long ago stopped being about discrimination; now it's a business.

With that out of the way.

The real poison pill in the black community is that when they were brought here as slaves those who did it robbed them of their culture. By doing so the US black had to invent his own culture. That invented culture is a direct caricature of our own ideals and way of life here in the USA.

Not to mention the impact the "war" on drugs had on their culture and community. To ignore the socioeconomic impacts of a whole race lacking a culture and entering the phase of integration during the most oppressive and damaging moral culture war of all time cant be understated. That said the black community does need to do a better job helping themselves and uplifting themselves. Their continued embrace of the "gangster" culture will only serve to keep them down. Until blacks stop accusing each other of acting white or bougie and begin to realize trying to be counter culture constantly keeps them at arms length of the equality they seek.
Let's correct something just to stay on facts. The majority of slaves were captured and enslaved by African tribes and then sold to Europeans. In fact, before Europeans arrived to Africa, slavery there was already a common practice as a result from wars between tribes.

                    • The wife and I were out at a few clubs this weekemd and we went outside to sit on a bench. A black man around 60 years old walked up to us and went to ask us a question and started to giggle and said never mind. I said sir if you wanna ask us something feel free to do so. So he asked if he could sit on the bench next to me. So I laughed and said of course. I could tell he was half in the bag and needed to sit. When he sat down I asked him if he was having a good time and he said NO. So I asked why not? Then he asked me if I knew we what the word nigger meant. And I said yes a uneducated lowlife p.o.s. and he said you do know own what it means. And I asked him why did you ask me that. And he went I to saying how white folks call him nigger and how we treat them horrible and kept them as slaves. Well I said excuse me sir but your far from the truth. And he asked how is that? I told him not all whites were for slavery and a lot of whites died to help free them but yet the blacks don't say thank you for the deaths of our people. We lost a lot of whites to free them. ALOT! and then I told him if he wants to be mad at anyone he should be mad at his own race for selling them. I told him the whites didn't buy blacks because of color but that they were for sale. And then he just stared at me for a minute and said I was right. At this point I told him he was ruining my night that I had to go. So me and the wife got up and as we were leaving he yelled out at me, have a good night my brother! I said you to..the said thing is every race is screwed by the police and there will always be racism. I'm for my race but would never at another race because of that. Every race should love there race. But we should all treat each other like humans. And how the blacks riot over the cops killing one of there kind I don't blame them. Maybe if every race did that we could all get together and treat the cops the way they treat all of us. Heck if we all stood together we could get rid of them

FYI, the vast majority of African slaves went to Caribbean and South America controlled by Spanish, Portuguese, French and Dutch mostly. A minority came to British North America.

The civil rights movement was a legit cause. It was a real problem. There was racial discrimination, segregation, it was institutionalized that way.

Today, BLM is "fighting" for a ghost agenda. Something that doesn't exist. And if there is some misconduct by police officers, again, is towards all races equally. But that argument that police are killing blacks is ridiculous and unfounded. So far the vast majority of those blacks who have died in those cases made popular ever since all this circus started, have been dangerous criminals with extensive background and they didn't die just because a cop didnt like him. They died because they were fighting the officers with everything they had in an absolute act of pure rebellion, arrogance, disrespect and unnecessary violence.

This I know and its why I was non specific in my description of their enslavers. However, its still true that by the time their 1st generation of children were born the slave traders made sure their culture, history, ect was lost to them. That makes a person more easy to control.

You see them everyday grasping for straws trying to find their global identity. Its IMO definitely part of the issue. Figuring out how to rectify that is well above my pay grade.

Look at some of the silly shit black people my age are claiming these days claiming to be Egyptians or moors. Saying they built the Aztec pyramids and Olmec heads in mexico and south america. Its crazy
