Not really, but I'm not afraid of covid and I still think its overblown in the media. There are alot of other things that kill many more people that don't seem to be a priority of addressing.

Sounds like they're getting a big check huh? The media does like to make headlines that sound bad knowing people seldom will read the whole story.

What it is is a temporary tax break for business losses. See a business has only a certain amount it can deduct as a loss on a tax return. This temporarily waives that limit. The purpose? So the business won't go out of business. The losses for business in states completely shut down are enormous. I know we all think this is a gift to the rich or big corporations but any decent deli does more than 1 mil in revenue and those are the ones that will get real help

I could not agree more. If you're over 65 or have other health issues than stay in your closet. If not if you get it half the time you won't even know it. My son just " recovered" from it. Boy was it terrible. I don't ever want that disease. Let me tell you how bad he was. Each day for breakfast he either had an omelette or 3 eggs with bacon or sausage, depending on how he felt that day. For dinner it was either steak, fried chicken , pizza or meatball heroes. Oh he had to stay in his room with a big screen tv and cable with all the channels. I don't want to know what my pay per view bill will be next month. I wouldn't let him use the gym in the basement so I brought some barbells we had outside and he worked out daily. The biggest issue was being confined to his room and allowing him only to use the main bathroom which I wiped down with some really good shit 10 times a day. Sadly for the very sick boy he goes back to work today.

I'm honestly beginning to not give a fuck about the virus. I've got materials to make a respirator, but I'm at a turning point to where I just don't care. I've just got much better things to focus on. I suppose I'm already pretty much in isolation as it is, so quite frankly, what's it matter if I do indeed catch covid? Won't seem to change much. I already always feel like shit. Have for years.

I generally agree with this. Reasonable people can certainly disagree regarding the tradeoffs, but it's not like DJT would bow to Fauci just because .... DJT is all in for his own image and interests.

The question is vague. How much economic improvement? We have to compare numbers with numbers.

However, if the question is, "How many US deaths can we accept before 'shutting down' the economy, as was done?" The number is a couple of million, and that's only if you count each death as a full life. Given that C19 is primarily killing the elderly, the number is really quite a bit higher. But then let's be generous and conservative and cut it in half. So let's start with 1 million.

I do think they care slightly less about image than Trump. He strikes me as unique in his need to be stroked and praised, but whatever. I'm not here to defend any politician, of any stripe. A critique of DJT is not an endorsement of every other politician by any means.

Indeed, and I didn't intend to imply that it was. I guess I just meant all of them who are grandstanding and relishing the moment, and I don't care what color their jersey is.
