It will be interesting to see if armour really does land in Libya this year as the video said. Something I find unsettling (and I'm not one to usually ponder these things too hard) is the under construction NSA data center with storage levels possibly in the yottabyte (1,000,000,000,000,000GB) range. That number is really hard to grasp, your computer likely has about 500GB or so; there are a thousand gigabytes in a terabyte, a thousand terabytes in a petabyte, a thousand petabytes in an exabyte, a thousand exabytes in a zettabyte, and a thousand zettabytes in a yottabyte. This is equivilent to 250 trillion dvds worth of data. I believe all the data to cross the internet since its creation is in the exabyte range for perspective (link for citation at bottom). If they are saying they need this much space it makes you wonder what they are (or more what they arent) planning on recording down : (
Maybe they are going to have all of our BPEL's, gains, and gym convos saved on the databank for future generations to know : )

There's no conspiracy.
I've known it for years that something's wrong with the governments around the world, something does not seem right ... So whether it be a secret organisation or something else, there have always been elite scum controlling everything in the human world.
Power and greed, personal profits and total control seems appealing to those rich bastards.
However, even IF they do manage to achieve that, it won't last for long, knowing the self destructive and stupid nature of humanity. :P

And yet you could probably write all the information down that you needed to make a nuclear bomb that would destroy a country in a 100k pdf. Knowledge is power, not volume. Even if they recorded every last byte of data ever to cross the internet, they still need to turn that data into information. For perspective it would probably take a supercomputer years to analyse that volume of data.Originally posted by winning View PostIt will be interesting to see if armour really does land in Libya this year as the video said. For anything but the most trivial data points, I'd suggest that a computer capable of performing the task in half the time would come along before the search was halfway complete, so why bother.
What you have to remember is that it's very easy to remain anonymous on the internet if you have something to hide, and very easy to encrypt sensitive or secret information to a level that would take years for the most powerful computers to crack by brute force. People who don't want to be found are usually pretty good at not being found. Look how long it took to find Bin Laden, and that's one guy, with the world's most technically advanced and powerful military looking for him as priority 1.
What's sinister is that those of us who have nothing to hide freely allow ourselves to be monitored. Yet since those who want to avoid detection know how to do so, what value is there in tracking people with nothing to hide? Very little in terms of actual security, but in terms of control, perceived authority, and keeping the population in check? They don't even have to track you. The notion that they are doing so, whether they are or not is enough to keep most people being good little bees. It's a lesson in rule by fear, and it only works because we're ill-educated enough as a population to allow it.
Consider CCTV. The UK is the most CCTV covered country in the world. There are cameras across every town, every shop, many domestic houses, many roads.. all over the place. It feels oppressive, all very Big Brother. But who's going to monitor it all? Computers aren't good enough at facial recognition or cognition of related events in video to be much use. Hell, have you seen the quality of most CCTV... people aren't good enough. So the actual value of all this recording is extremely low. However the value of a population thinking it's being recorded... that's really high.
Fear is a much more powerful weapon for governments and media than information. Why do you think the media is saturated with stories of things to be afraid of?
Don't trust the papers.
Stop watching the news. Or if you must, watch multiple opposing networks, like FOX, then CNN, then Al-Jazeera.
Watch the Power of Nightmares if you can find it.
Read Chomsky.

It's naive to think these agendas aren't out there, but it's just as naive to think that everything is so well oiled and perfectly organised that such agendas could ever succeed.
They're talking about consolidating all UK governmental computer systems (police, security, NHS presumably etc) so as to what.. monitor us better under the pretence of "our security". Well they'd love you to think that, but I work in computers, and have worked with public sector projects. Most people in IT don't know how IT works. These systems are a farce. Run and designed by bureaucracy, not technicians. Actually, just thinking about this. Here's some perspective. There is far more storage than that already on the internet. Permanently. It's just on different computers instead of on one. Consider just Gmail. I get 8 GB or so of free storage. There were at least 100 million gmail accounts a few years ago. It's more now.Originally posted by winning View Post... That's almost an exabyte of storage just for email.
There was talk some years back about forcing ISPs to record all the activity of their customers. For "security purposes" of course. Now consider just how practical that would really be. consider the volume of data generated. And they'd have them keep it for 7 years. Understandably the ISPs were up in arms about it. But regardless, let's imagine that the authorities got their way and all ISPs were compliant. How would they go about finding an individual's activities.
1st get a warrant and go to the ISP. Ok, that's easy enough. Then go to a reluctant ISP and present the warrant. Ok, still pretty easy. Then they get access to gigs and gigs and gigs of logs. The ISP won't have recorded everything as in the data transmitted and the like. Partly because the useful stuff will be SSL encrypted (https) and effectively impossible to read. Partly because the volume of data sent/received would be unmanageable (think about it.. a small ISP with 10,000 customers would generate maybe GBs of traffic a second. And you want to save all of that to disk? Raided? backed up every night?) - so they won't have that. And finally, they won't keep it because even if possible, y'know, SSL notwithstanding, it's downright illegal for an ISP to store that personal information (intercepted credit card numbers etc) for a hundred reasons.
Anyway, in comes the authorities' data "expert". He's gonna have to be damned good, because that's a freakishly large volume of data to sift through. He'll have to cross reference connection times, ip addresses allocated, vpn connections, proxy data, all that. Not just the web address some guy went to, but all the information in the headers via some kind of HTTP parser filter, cross referenced against server responses, expanded so as to give the best picture of the person's activities.
Of course even after this has been done, days later, and assuming the data guy is good enough to get as good a picture as is possible it's still pretty useless, just a list of websites and network connections. So now, they'll have to search this information to identify notorious sites, known recipients or known remote networks (whose IPs and connection details would need to be cross refernced against their ISPs connection and DHCP logs - assuming that suspicious target was stupid enough to use a commerical connection associared with his personal details, and assuming the ISP kept DHCP logs for the time period. And assuming the target network is managed and hosted by organisations within the authorities' jurisdiction.
And still what do you have? For one target individual? Not a lot, and a lot of time and effort spent to get there. And that's just what the target does at home on his ADSL line.
Futhermore, there's no guarantee that the activity from an ISP account can all be attributed to the account holder. He could have numerous people in the house, he could have an open wireless network, hell, he could have some trojan on there allowing a real criminal to hijack his device remotely.
Far better to confiscate suspects' computers when there's reasonable suspicion, and get the data guys in on those, though of course a halfway competent criminal would have cleared his tracks, maybe even using something as trivial as IE InPrivate browsing. I mean, what are you looking for? cookies?
Basically the upshot is that you would need to be pretty sloppy, virtually to the point of putting a photo, address and a description of your personal activities up on a messageboard somewhere to actually get fingered for it. And even then it's difficult to admit that as evidence in court as it could easily be faked.
Now don't get me wrong, you should still be very careful about how open and honest you are on the internet for all sorts of reasons, but the fact is you're going to have to be under some pretty dramatic level of suspicion for the authorities to go to the effort required to actually catch you out.
you think they're going to do that for your car tax?Last edited by spanky; 06-19-2011, 06:22 AM."I want to go to my death bed one day knowing that even when my heart led me into the fire, I fucking did it anyway, and I have the story to tell."

People need to realise what WAR is.THey say you fight for you country, that's is bs.
You go invade another country kill civilians for what? oil?diamonds? Is it really more worth than a human life?
The main problem is the people that set up these wars are drinking whiskey in their office laughing while people are fighting eachother. Some of the things they say just are just way beyond a regular psychopat.
humans are a bunch of cattle that need to be eliminated?
eliminating 95% of the world population would be ideal?
I want to come back in my next life as a deadly virus to lower population levels?
No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation?
it's easier to kill a million people than it is to control them?
The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer?
I don't know what these people are but they sure as hell ain't human. No emotion,no mercy.
Btw good articles Hanma,i believe there is still hope and that we can nail these creeps and Grupp is a very smart man who has been at this for years.

I disagree with some of you. I do believe facial recognition is very good. I believe computers do a lot of work and people are not needed to go over everything. Words written on our computers on threads, emails, blogs etc are screened for key words. If key words are found they are gone over and decided if you need more attention or not. Same thing for cell phones. They can listen in anywhere your cell phone is set down at, the only way to stop that is to take out the battery. Our technology is way better than some have said on here.
As far as the NWO, I think it is gonna take more time.

In theory, yes. It's the sheer volume of information that makes total surveillance impractical. Now don't get me wrong, that won't always be the case, and if things keep going the way they are, there will likely come a time where, to flip things on their head, people not using the internet will be viewed with suspicion. But we're not there yet. People still hack the Pentagon you know. You only hear about the ones they catch.Originally posted by mistydawn View PostOur technology is way better than some have said on here.
I could easily post an encrypted block here with a message in that nobody in this world would be able to read until I gave them the key. And I'm no expert. It's not rocket science.
Like I say, people with something to hide can hide it. It's the people who think they don't who allow themselves to feel watched and be frightened into compliance.Last edited by spanky; 06-19-2011, 07:48 AM."I want to go to my death bed one day knowing that even when my heart led me into the fire, I fucking did it anyway, and I have the story to tell."

I seen on TV that wherever the president of the US goes they listen in to all mobile phones within a 3 mile radius for key words that maybe a planned assasination or terrorist attack.
