I don't care if you don't agree with my thoughts, ideas, and beliefs, but don't attack them. Sorry pal, do YOU have the answers to life and death? Didn't think so. Maybe, just maybe, my ideas go above your head since it is all "nonsense", yet it makes perfect sense to me and other people. Did I ever say dying was noble? Death will be my salvation? Wtf are you even talking about?Originally posted by Nachos87 View PostWhat I meant is that the events are what we make them. There is no good or bad. There is just what is good or bad to us. It is you who's making yourself suffer, instead of some event being the cause of it.
You don't have to suffer to learn something out of it.
That is currently your definition of being human. It used to be something else, before this righteous "everyone is equal" society. It will be something else in the future.
Everything was natural? Opportunity for what? You seem to be spewing nonsense. Don't tell me you're one of those that feels sorry for himself and that death will be his salvation. Dying is nothing noble.
Living forever will be the matter of tweaking some parts of the DNA. Death makes no sense to me whatsoever.I have no problem being with just one woman, but I can't not eat all the donuts.

DNA can not be tweeked to make us live forever, never will happen. Our parts would wear out. Besides what if we got ED at 69 and lived to be 2500, bummer.Going an inch and 1/2 deeper than before

Yeah, you are entitled to your wrong beliefs and ideas, I just don't see how can you shove away my ideas which are actually based on science and medical breakthroughs.Originally posted by faithandhope View PostI don't care if you don't agree with my thoughts, ideas, and beliefs, but don't attack them. What are your ideas based on? On what your parents thought you? If most people believe that death is unavoidable, that doesn't make it so, and you seem to me like another one of those people who'd rather go with the herd instead of being creative and thinking with his own head. Why would you otherwise say that death will never be avoidable? Because you can always get thousands of the likes of you, to back you up so you can feel good about yourself.
If you brought back a person from 1850s to the present, he wouldn't know on which planet he was. And you are saying you can predict how the world will be in 50 years? How about 150 years? 10000 years? 'Never', my ass.
Which ideas might those be? That we'll die? How original and definitely incomprehensible to me.Originally posted by faithandhope View PostMaybe, just maybe, my ideas go above your head since it is all "nonsense", yet it makes perfect sense to me and other people.
They tweaked the DNA of some worms making them live twice as long. What do you mean it cannot be tweaked and never (again with that word) will? You're familiar with the technologies of 2050s I guess.Originally posted by BigO View PostDNA can not be tweaked to make us live forever, never will happen. Our parts would wear out. We are only getting older because the cell multiplication gets worse and worse. It doesn't have to. Sharks, for example are young forever and are actually getting stronger and faster with age. I'm saying we will live infinitely as young people, that's what I'm saying.Into 19th Month

Your also entitled to your beliefs but don't come at me with the shit that I'm following a societal norm. My beliefs are MINE, not plagiarized from someone else who happens to agree with me. How do I know you didn't just "steal" your ideas from all those scientists? Have YOU ever seen something live forever? Didn't think so. No, sadly my friend you are going to die just as well. I don't care what DNA shit you can configure, DNA can't protect you from severe head trauma and a shattered rib cage, cause when you bleed out, your dead no matter what your DNA says. Accidents happen, you aren't and will never be invulnerable. Sorry to burst your blessed little bubble.Originally posted by Nachos87 View PostYeah, you are entitled to your wrong beliefs and ideas, I just don't see how can you shove away my ideas which are actually based on science and medical breakthroughs.

Bursting my bubble, you say? You mean burst it like the war I witnessed at the age of 4? Or burst it like a river whirlpool that sucked in 2 of my cousins in in front of my own eyes, when I was 7? I know very well what death is and I was then, where you are now.Originally posted by faithandhope View PostYour also entitled to your beliefs but don't come at me with the shit that I'm following a societal norm. Unlike most people, I don't have my 'beliefs' set in stone. Beliefs and opinions doesn't matter really. There is the truth and I'm gravitating towards it. You need to realize that you are basing 'YOUR' beliefs on an external facts. For example, if you provide some real facts about your beliefs, I might consider it. Where are you getting your facts from? Science, Religion, Society...? Yourself?
Do you even know anything about biology? Why do we die from a heart attack... It's just because brain is left without oxygen and 'dies'. Now, even that is not the reason. The real reason is because we can't repair brain damage (yet). That is the main problem.
Let's test your knowledge in medical advances. Did you know that scientists already managed to clone most of people's organs? How about cloning the whole human and using it for body parts?
So now we have spare body parts and in the future we might be able to repair brain damage due to prolonged lack of oxygen. Dying in an accident will look like this:
You are doing some farm work and got chopped down in half by a harvester (whatever lol). You obviously bled out to 'death' quickly. Because you lived in a far back area, ambulance took 2 hours to arrive and another 2 to take you to the Emergency Room. They replaced your damaged body parts and restarted your heart. Everything works except your brain. They regenerate your brain cells with future technology. Ta fucking da!
You 'dying' will be like a kid falling and scraping his knee... "Meh, whatever. I'll call an ambulance as soon as I finish my sandwich..."
I was talking about not dying from old age, but there you have it: Not dying from injuries as well.
This is the stupidest question I read in a while. How can I witness something living forever?Originally posted by faithandhope View PostHave YOU ever seen something live forever? Didn't think so.
But I think you mean this, so here it is again:
Immortal jellyfish: Does it really live forever? | MNN - Mother Nature Network
Now, from experience from my past debates you are going to do the following: Ignore every good point I made and focus on some obscure unimportant thing I said, because you seem to be one of those stubborn, closed-minded people for whom, admitting he's wrong is comparable to a life threat. I deduced that, because you seem to be almost offended by my notion that we will live forever.
The thing is, you can't even fathom what is science doing right now, let alone in 100 years, 10000 years, 10 million years... And you dare to use the word never for anything? What the fuck?
What if we will be able to duplicate our consciousness and memories, and store it on a hard drive so when the 'death' comes, one of the options is to just download our consciousness into our cloned body and continue living like that forever.
We might find a way to release our consciousnesses from our bodies and live body-less from then on, being invulnerable to anything, communicating telepathically.
What if it's found out that life is actually a dream and when you die, you just wake up in another dream, going on infinitely.
etc. etc.
You are so closed-minded and unimaginative, you don't even know it.Last edited by Nachos87; 05-02-2013, 08:27 PM.Into 19th Month

Yeah. We MIGHT. You call me close minded because I used the word NEVER. I am not close minded, I am open minded to everyones beliefs. Hence me already saying that they are BELIEFS, and no one is right or wrong considering there is no answer that we know of. So, what happens to us after we die? Still awaiting a definite answer. I gave my opinions, and that is it. Your the one criticising every word that I've said. There is a million different possibilities, and a million different "beliefs" no matter how ridiculous. Quite blatantly, I don't even care. I guess I'll find out when I die.
It could be you are very torn by the deaths of those around you and are determined to believe that one day death won't "exist". Well once again sorry to burst your bubble, but no amount of technology will bring them back.Last edited by faithandhope; 05-02-2013, 08:35 PM.I have no problem being with just one woman, but I can't not eat all the donuts.

Okay, I see having a discussion with you is useless so I'll just end it shortly with this.
So 'We Might live forever' but 'We Won't live forever'? Maybe you should stop typing right now.Originally posted by faithandhope View PostYeah. We MIGHT. But sorry buddy, your still going to die and guess what, no one is going to bring you back into your infinitely living body.
Don't you worry about me. I was trying to say that I came to peace with death long, long time ago and I definitely don't expect science to bring back DNA-less skeletons back to life.Originally posted by faithandhope View PostIt could be you are very torn by the deaths of those around you and are determined to believe that one day death won't "exist". Again, whatever I just said, just went in your head and then out of it. What kind of intelligent thinking is that? Believe what you want, but don't you dare present your beliefs as truths, unless you have something to back it up. Because if you do, I'll be there to challenge your beliefs.Last edited by Nachos87; 05-02-2013, 09:03 PM.Into 19th Month

When did I ever declare my beliefs as TRUTHS?!?!? I literally just said that they are my BELIEFS, probably 3 times by now actually. And yes, maybe in the FUTURE there will be people who can reproduce brain neurons and copy consciousness, but ME and YOU aren't going to see that future. Maybe YOU should stop typing, cause your twisting my words like a motherfucker and its annoying, you keep putting words in my mouth.Originally posted by Nachos87 View PostOkay, I see having a discussion with you is useless so I'll just end it shortly with this.
