I've updated the main post with the below (under psychologcal factors - which perhaps is a bit loose) as well
It seems to me after a couple of years dealing with this, generally successfully, but with ups and downs, that in addition to all the talk here about learning control which is highly valuable, your neurochemistry and state of mind (either can influence and/or be symptomatic of the other) can easily be a contributory factor. Perhaps even the primary cause itself in my case at least. Certainly it can be ONE dramatic aggressor, whether it's responsible alone, or clouds other problems. I wrote a recent breakdown of my experience here, and some fairly thorough discission (educated, if amateur) of the possible mechanisms in play with 5HTP, SSRIs, MDMA and St. John's Wort.

Done a little more readng around here, and I've seen a few people mention that the reason serotonin has this effect is because it suppresses oxytocin. The love chemical, found in abundance post orgasm, and hey, perhaps it's a critical part of orgasm anyway, alongside dopamine (need to research this).

In fairness there's a big difference between self-control and autonomic response. Yes, it's all about your mind in the end. And it actually depends on the hotness of the girl. It has been scientifically proven that men get more aroused the hotter the girl is. Spanky, first of all thank you for the great effort you've put into this. I really appreciate your effort to help others out. Having read a lot on this website, I am starting to think that my BC muscle is too weak, causing involuntary spasms too quickly, hence resulting in prem. ejac. When I first started to have sex, I'd only last a very short time, yet gradually but quickly I was able to pound away. In recent years, however, prem. ejac. has become a serious issue. I cannot last long (a few minutes) let alone do doggy or do it fast. My PE gets better if I do reversed kegels when not masturbating and relaxing but when i'm masturbating, if I hold a 10 sec normal kegel it seems to tired to spasm so I can masturbate for a good minute before doing it again. I have pretty extreme ED from kegeling hard when masturbating, the hard fast ones seems to worsen the condition for me.

If I understand it correctly, having read this thread and many of the other ones, then the three main contributory factors to premature ejaculation are an unbalanced pelvic floor, a physical lack of ability to hold off from PONR and a mental vulnerability to becoming over stimulated.
I have had severe PE for 20 years and would say that I am seriously deficient in each area. I can't last long when I'm edging, I get strong kegel flutters like an electric shock and I get so easily aroused I can watch a bit of porn then not even last 10 seconds masturbating.
What I would like to know is how do forum members think I should even start to tackle the problem? I've tried before with RKs routines and with arousal programs but I'm ashamed to say the problem is so deeply ingrained and so severe that I've been easily discouraged and given up quite easily. Is it best to tackle these things separately or can I work on different things simultaneously?

Ok, on reflection if my own journey, crack the involuntary kegels thing. Do kegels yourself, whatever. Just work to overcome them. Hard.
Then psychologically, ignore orgasm. Completely. It's not you're problem or your goal any more. Just enjoy how it feels now, in the moment. Because it feels great. Enjoy every last bit of it. Check out how your body's response changes. It's subtle. Feel every change, and every shift. Get really familiar with it. You *will* be able to control it and ride it, as long as you get used to the small, subtle shifts. Then go for desensitisation. Either by lots of fucking when you're not going for orgasm, or by deliberately stimulating yourself too much every time, testing yourself, like you're thinking whoah, that's so sensitive I can't handle it? Do it. A lot. Push yourself.
And give it time.
That's basically my journey, and it's not a problem any more. And my whole experience if sex and orgasm has changed irreversibly through it. For the better in every way.

Hey guys, just thought I would share my story of Premature Ejaculation with you. Every since I was around 17 years of age I noticed that I would cum relatively quickly when masturbating. This was confirmed when I had my first encounter with a girl and I literally blew in about 5 seconds. As embarrassing as it was, sometimes I would be able to last 2-3 minutes the second time others maybe only 30 seconds.
Ofcourse, I looked online to find a solution, I thought it was psychological, or a weak pelvic muscle, and I tried multiple exercises with minimal changes in the latency to ejaculation. Maximum of 20 seconds or so. I then tried supplements, such as Vitamin D, Magnesium and Vitamin C to ensure I wasn't deficient in anything.
What was really the TIPPING POINT, was a simple Zinc supplement of 75 mg/day. I took this due to Wilson's Disease where an excess copper builds up in your system and realized I had a mineral imbalance. Now, I feel like I have FULL CONTROL (to an extent) of my ejaculation, and I am able to last easily between 15-20 minutes. If I breath properly and relax during sex, I can go even longer. It has really been a godsend, finding that this was the cause.
So for any out there that are still struggling and not finding any improvements by the methods described here, I would highly suggest looking into mineral imbalances, I understand that my situation was rare, but I know there must be a few people out there that suffer from premature ejaculation from a similar cause.
