There are friendships that have been broken based on an argument about a shoe. Friends have stopped talking for 20-30 years because of that. The ego is a strange thing, it can cause us to detach from people once it feels threatned. I hope he comes back after he calms down, but I understand what caused him to leave as it was a heated argument.

I remember those days where Wish was so jovial, and full of life excitement. No matter what the topic he always had some great piece of advice to offer. Even if he was going through some personal hard times. I know he had serious domestic issue that to me really got the best of him. Then he disappeared and relocated which had some of us worried. It was as if he just vanished off the face of the earth. He came back and I could tell that he had changed. Something effected him I a big way. These last couple of weeks/months had me concerned for our brother. He just didn't seem like the same ol Wish.

If you are reading this Wish as a guest, know this. Love you brother and wish you the best.

He’s had a rough go. No doubt about it. Started in childhood and the marriage. He is a stand up guy and suffered while raising their children. Now health and income issues. It just sucks. I love you my friend. Always know that.
A prayer, is kinda the same as a "Like". If there are enough likes, God will take notice. So "Like" away please. My daughter needs your prayers. Thank You.

For a long time on this forum there were no political threads. When the decision came to allow them here we knew there'd be conflicts- as these type of threads can cause very heated emotions for some.

I refuse to even open the political threads. Im sad to see it braught here... this is a place where those who are hurting or feel incomplete come to learn more how to build who they are.... politics feel like so much of a huge destraction. Its very often not productive talking. Its an area that we all know all too well can be very heated and sensitive. Please please gentlemen.... if youre here for growth make sure youre possitively building up your fellow gym mates. Dont risk your relationships of trust to be broken over something like politics. Youre worth far more than that...

Why cannot civil intelligent people not just discuss politics but any and all subjects? What is learned; what is achieved by not doing so? Rule out one subject and it gets easy to rule out the next one and then next one. Ban a book and before too long you'll ban libraries.
Why take such offense to opposing points of view? Discuss, argue but in the end realize their opinion and their right to express is is equal to you're own.
Don't like the subject of a particular thread than don't read it. Is that so hard?

Well I come to similar conclusions to Cusp for opposite reasons .
Many members on a variety of topics will not listen to you so there is no point speaking . There is also no point in geting upset about it . After all that exists in normal society and more so in net land so meh.

The site has always had wide ranging discussions on a wide range of issues .
Most of the politics that gets people into issues is US . I have a largely ignored thread about Aussie issues including politics . Uk politics doesn't seem an issue despite the major events there .
I know i could if I wanted get up in arms over US attitudes to health care, gun control, hate speech ,weight training a wide variety of political issues, or indeed failure to listen to others/general arrogance .

Look often it is just better to shrug and get on with your thing .
When I was young i discovered that a friends father had been a nazi during ww2 .
I decided he was now a baker and not politically involved besides he made the best donuts . Did i discuss politics with him hell no.

I don't comment much on U.S or AUS politics as I don't really know what's going on. And U.K politics gives me such headache I havent got time to look into other countries but I definitely think we should be able to discuss, debate these things, if wanted.

I wish in UK we were taught politics in school, I think it would help the general public.

The aussie attitude to politics is generally don't take it too serious whoever you vote for a politican will win .
